license holders existed as a part of the codified City's Personnel Policy, it was inadvertently 44 <br />removed when the City's recodified Code of Ordinances was approved and adopted by the City <br />Council. <br />Staff discovered this oversight and is requesting that this language be returned to the City`s Code <br />of Ordinances so that the Police Department may be again authorized to conduct BCA criminal <br />background checks on prospective new hires and licensees. That original background check <br />language is attached and will be placed in the City Code chapters as appropriate. <br />Recommendation. <br />Staff recommends the adoption to the City Code of the language authorizing the City to request <br />criminal history background checks from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (MN <br />BCA).
