Resolution 11-024; Awarding a Bid for the 2011 Street & Utility Improvements. Todd <br />8 Hubmer, WSB & Associates, presenting. <br />9 <br />10 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Resolution 11- <br />11 024; Awarding a Bid for the 2011 Street and Utility Improvements to Northdale Construction <br />12 Company for a bid in the amount of $1,379,353.69. <br />13 <br />14 Motion carried unanimously. <br />15 <br />16 Mr. Hubmer answered questions of the City Council regarding previous performance of <br />17 Northdale Construction. He stated Northdale Construction underperformed in its work for the <br />18 City in 1999. However, with the 2005 project the company completed its work one month ahead <br />19 of time and did a fantastic job. Staff spent a considerable amount of time prior to the 2005 <br />20 project ensuring that the company was prepared to complete the project. Staff has managed <br />21 projects that Northdale Construction has worked on in other communities since 2005 and they <br />22 are reasonable to work with. <br />23 <br />24 Mayor Faust noted there were 14 bidders on this project ranging from the low bid from <br />25 Northland Construction at $1,379,000 to a high of $1,813,000. Bylaw the City is required to <br />26 accept the lowest responsible bidder and due diligence is done by the City Engineer. <br />27 <br />28 V. Stacie Kvilvang, Ehlers & Associates, presenting. <br />36 <br />37 Ms. Stacie Kvilvang, Ehlers & Associates, provided an overview of the sale of $3,000,000 GO <br />38 Street Reconstruction Bonds, Series 2011A. <br />39 <br />40 In response to questions of the City Council, Ms. Kvilvang explained that the $3,000,000 bond <br />41 amount consists of $1,940,000 from the 2011 Street Project and $1,060,000 for the refunding of <br />42 2003A bonds. <br />43 <br />44 Motion by Councilmember Roth, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to approve Resolution 11- <br />45 025; Providing for the Sale of $3,000,000 GO Street Reconstruction Bonds, Series 2011 A. <br />M <br />0 <br />
