City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />May 10, 2011 <br />Page 4 <br />2 City Engineer Hubmer advised that the City Council previously approved a resolution <br />3 authorizing the preparation and submittal of a grant for the City to receive UI grants through the <br />4 Met Council and the City is eligible to receive $103,262. He stated that the Met Council requires <br />5 a resolution that the City will accept this grant. <br />7 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to approve Resolution 1I- <br />8 033; Accepting and Approving the Grant Agreement Between the City of St. Anthony Village <br />9 and the Metropolitan Council of Environmental Services for the Improvement of Publicly <br />10 Owned Infrastructure. <br />11 <br />12 Motion carried 4-0. <br />13 <br />14 D. Resolution 11-034; Requesting a Variance from Minnesota State -Aid Rule 8820.2800 <br />15 Subpart 2A for the 2009 Street and Utility Improvement Project. <br />16 <br />17 City Engineer Hubmer advised that this is a housekeeping resolution which requests a variance <br />18 from the State Aid Rules regarding the timing on Mn/DOT's approval of the City's original <br />19 variance for two curves on Foss Road. Iie stated that there was a disparity between the date of <br />20 the official letter granting approval and the contract bid opening date, and Mn/DOT has <br />21 requested that the City Council pass a resolution authorizing a variance to the State Aid rule. <br />22 <br />23 Motion by Councilmember Roth, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Resolution 1I- <br />24 034; Requesting a Variance from Minnesota State -Aid Rule 8820.2800 Subpart 2A for the 2009 <br />25 Street and Utility Improvement Project. <br />26 <br />27 Motion carried 4-0. <br />28 <br />29 E. City Engineer's Update. <br />30 <br />31 City Engineer Hubmer presented an update on the 2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project, <br />32 including Ilighcrest Road/Old Highway 8, Silver Lane Sidewalk west of Silver Lake Road, and <br />33 Silver Lane east of Silver Lake Road. He stated that the curb and sidewalk on Silver Lane west <br />34 of Silver Lake Road will be replaced as well. <br />35 <br />36 City Engineer Hubmer reviewed the 2011 Street and Utility Improvement Project started last <br />37 week on .Edward and Coolidge. He stated that all work should be completed sometime in July <br />38 and residents can contact Tim McAnallen at 612-272-2683 or City staff with any questions. <br />39 <br />40 City Engineer Hubmer provided a preview of the 2012 street and utility improvement project <br />41 which is locatedjust south of this year's street and utility project. <br />42 <br />43 Councilmember Stille requested further information regarding the project and the rationale for <br />44 choosing these streets versus other streets in the City. <br />45 <br />0 <br />
