Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for March 3, 2014 <br />Page 4 of 9 <br />Approve Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit for Pheasants Forever Banquet at Sal's Angus <br />Grill on March 31, 2014 <br />Pheasants Forever has applied for a Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit to allow the sale of raffle <br />tickets at its banquet on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Sal's Angus Grill. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved the Lawful Gambling permit for this event. <br />Approve Resolution Approving CUP Amendment for Randy Nugent at 15183 Freeland <br />Avenue North <br />Applicant Randy Nugent requested approval of a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) amendment to <br />allow a motor vehicle repair business on property located at 15183 Freeland Avenue North. The <br />applicant currently leases out half the building, 4,800 square feet, to a motor vehicle repair <br />business called ATR Auto Repair. The applicant has a CUP for exterior storage on the property. <br />At its February 13, 2014 meeting, the Planning Commission considered the request and held a <br />public hearing. There was no one that spoke at the public hearing. The Planning Commission <br />recommended approval of the request subject to the conditions listed in the CUP. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda approved RESOLUTION 2014 — 6 APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT AMENDMENT FOR TO ALLOW A MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR BUSINESS USE <br />ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 15183 FREELAND AVENUE NORTH. <br />Approve City Council Focus Goals for 2014 <br />On Tuesday, February 18, 2014, the Council held its annual Goal Setting Session. Fire Chief <br />Kevin Colvard, Planner Rachel Juba, and Parks Planner Shayla Syverson reviewed the goals of the <br />respective departments, and Council discussed what they felt was important to accomplish in the <br />next year as well as ongoing priorities. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the 2014 <br />Annual Focus Goals and Ongoing Priorities as presented. <br />Approve Resignation of Economic Development Authority Commissioner Jim Bever and <br />Advertisement for Vacancy <br />EDA Commissioner Jim Bever has submitted his letter of resignation from the EDA effective <br />after the next meeting of the EDA on March 11, 2014. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />approved the letter of resignation and the advertisement for vacancy. <br />Approve Advertisement for Public Works Seasonal Employees <br />For the past several years, the City has hired personnel filling the equivalent of five seasonal <br />Public Works positions to help maintain the City's park system and building grounds as well as <br />assist in road patching crews and other work as needed. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />approved the advertisement for Public Works Seasonal employees. <br />
