Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for October 20, 2014 <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />Connexus Energy Donation to Hugo Good Neighbor Food Shelf <br />Council Member Haas added this to the agenda to inform Council that Connexus Energy is <br />making a 25,000 donation to the Hugo Good Neighbor Food Shelf. This donation is being made <br />in the memory of Jim Leroux, who was a long time member the Energy Board. <br />Food Shelf Board Member Cindy Petty added that there are opportunities for other business <br />owners to donate. She explained that there will be areas within the food shelf that can be <br />sponsored, and the shopping area will be named after them. <br />Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to directed staff to contact Connexus and the Food Shelf to <br />make a presentation to thank Connexus and help publicize the need for donations. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to direct staff to put together a letter to Connexus to thank <br />them for supporting the community. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Ground Breaking Ceremony Keystone Senior Living on October 21, 2014 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded the Council they were invited to attend the Keystone Place <br />at LaValle Fields Senior Housing Community Ground Breaking Ceremony on Tuesday, October 21, <br />2104 at 8 a.m. The ceremony will take place on the property located west of Lions Park. This was <br />posted as a meeting. <br />Hugo Area Business Association Networking Breakfast on October 22, 2014 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded the Council of the Business Networking Breakfast on <br />Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. at the Blue Heron. The topic of the meeting will be tax <br />and investment strategies. The Council had scheduled this as a meeting. <br />Hugo Area Business Association Business Showcase at North Country Auto on October 28, <br />2014 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed the Council that the HBA was holding a Business <br />Showcase at North Country Auto Body & Mechanical, 5451 140th Street North, on October 28, <br />2014. The Council was invited to join them for refreshments, shop tours, door prizes, and <br />networking. The Showcase will take place from 4-6:30 p.m. <br />Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule it as a meeting of the Council. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
