Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for April 15, 2013 <br />Page 4 of 8 <br />Approve Special Event Permit for Blue Heron Outdoor Concerts on June 28 & 29, 2013 <br />The Blue Heron Grill, 14725 Victor Hugo Boulevard North, applied for a Special Event Permit <br />to allow outdoor concerts on June 28 and 29, 2013. The bands will play under an outdoor tent <br />set up in the parking lot adjacent to the building, and will play from 7 p.m. -midnight. Staff has <br />been working with the Blue Heron on the details of the events and finds the event to be well <br />planned. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Special Event Permit for the Blue <br />Heron Grill for outdoor concerts on June 28 and 29, 2013. <br />Approve Renewal of 2 a.m. Liquor License for Blue Heron Grill, Inc. <br />The Blue Heron Grill, 14725 Victor Hugo Boulevard North, has applied to the City for renewal <br />of its 2:00 a.m. closing time. City staff has reviewed the application and found it to be <br />satisfactorily complete. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the application for a 2:00 <br />a.m. closing time for the Blue Heron Grill <br />Approve Temporary Liquor License for the Hugo Lions Club for Good Neighbor Days <br />The Hugo Lions Club has applied for a temporary on -sale liquor license to serve strong beer <br />during the Good Neighbor Days Festival and for a Bloody Mary bar on Saturday and Sunday <br />mornings of the festival. The Lions have submitted a completed application and proof of liquor <br />liability insurance. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Temporary On -Sale Liquor <br />License for the Hugo Lions Club for the Good Neighbor Days Festival June 6-9, 2013 <br />Approve Advertisement for Historical Commission Associate Members <br />Staff recently met with Historical Commission Chair Kitty Cheesebrow and Commission <br />Member Cynthia Schoonover to discuss the needs of the Historical Commission. Staff is working <br />with them on the purchase of a new computer and upgraded software to use in the organizing and <br />archiving of old photos, documents, and oral histories. The Commission is in need of individuals <br />to use this software and to gather oral histories, as well as participate in other activities of the <br />Commission. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the advertisement to fill two associate <br />member positions on the Historical Commission. <br />Approve Appointment of New Deputy Fire Chief Jim Compton Jr. <br />At its March 25, 2013 meeting, the Council accepted the resignation of Deputy Fire Chief Jake <br />Christiansen from the Hugo Fire Department. Fire Chief Kevin Colvard and City Administrator Bryan <br />Bear recently conducted interviews on three firefighters interested in becoming the new Deputy Fire Chief. <br />It was agreed that Firefighter Jim Compton, Jr. was the best candidate for the position. Staff recommends <br />Council approve Jim Compton, Jr. as the new Deputy Fire Chief. <br />Approve Pay Request No. 8 from Municipal Builders for Well House No. 6 <br />City staff has received Pay Request No. 8 from Municipal Builders, Inc. for the construction of <br />Well No. 6. Senior Engineering Technician Steve Duff and City Engineer Jay Kennedy have <br />reviewed the pay request and found it to be satisfactory for work completed to date on the <br />project. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved Pay Request No. 8 from Municipal Builders, <br />Inc. in the amount of $17,618.70 for work completed on Well No. 6. <br />
