Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for May 6, 2013 <br />Page 3 of 8 <br />Approve Joint Powers Agreement for Metro -INET IT Services <br />Over the past year, staff has been exploring options for Information Technology (IT) services for <br />City Hall, Public Works, and the Hugo Fire Department. The Council had discussed this at last <br />year's budget workshop and set this as a goal for this year during the January 22, 2013 Goal <br />Setting Session. The City currently lacks a dedicated IT Department or staff, and is supported by <br />external computer support contractor CIT. The City has recently contracted with the City of <br />Roseville's Metro -INET for phone service and support. Metro -INET is also a shared service for <br />IT support with 23 other cities. As part of Metro -INET IT services, City staff will have <br />increased availability of IT staff with a diversity of skill, and can extend to the cost sharing of <br />applications and other services. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Joint Powers <br />Agreement for the City of Roseville Extension of MIS Services and Support to the City of Hugo. <br />Approve Hiring of Five Public Works Seasonal Employees <br />Each year, the Public Works Department hires staff to fill five seasonal positions to perform <br />grounds maintenance duties at all City owned properties. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />approved the hiring of Samatha Guenther, Dillon Lang, Shannon Nelson, and Angela Guenther <br />as full-time seasonal employees and Marc Smith and Tom Cardinal as part-time seasonal <br />employees to fill a total of five seasonal positions within the Public Works Department. <br />Approve Application for Water Surface Use Permit for Mike Ball on Round Lake <br />On behalf of residents living on Round Lake, resident Mike Ball has made application to the City <br />of Hugo for a water surface use permit to allow residents to water ski on the slalom course on the <br />lake and put a water ski jump on the lake. Washington County Sheriff's Department has <br />provided the application form that has been completed by Mike Ball. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved the application for a water surface use permit for water skiing on the slalom <br />course on Round Lake. <br />Approve Resignation of Firefighter Mike McCorkel from the Hugo Fire Department <br />Firefighter Mike McCorkel has submitted his letter of resignation from the Hugo Fire <br />Department effective April 4, 2013. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the letter of <br />resignation from Mike McCorkel. <br />Approve CUP, Site Plan, and Variance for Christ Lutheran Church - 4790 Rosemary Way <br />Council Member Petryk removed this item from the Consent Agenda. Christ Lutheran Church is <br />requesting approval of a conditional use permit, site plan, and variance to construct a church on <br />the property located at 4790 Rosemary Way North. The site plan is for an 11,882 square foot <br />church including a daycare center and associated parking lot. The variance is for the height of the <br />building to be 41 feet, where 35 feet is required by ordinance. The portion of the building that is <br />proposed to be at 41 feet would be the cross located on top of the building. The rest of the <br />building is at an average 26 feet in height. The conditional use permit (CUP) is required for a <br />Place of Worship to be located in the Medium Density Multiple Family Residential (R-5) zoning <br />district.
