Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for December 16, 2013 <br />Page 6 of 9 <br />legislature and a bonding bill. <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear staff was working on creating a bonding package to be submitted <br />to the legislature which may include a drinking water treatment facility. Staff will continue to <br />have informal discussions with legislators. Further, staff recommended the committee be made <br />up of two Council Members, City Administrator, City Engineer, Finance Director, Public Works <br />Director and the Intern. This committee should meet every two weeks. <br />Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to appoint Council Member Haas and Mayor Weidt to the <br />committee with Klein to serve as an alternative. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Update on Web Streaming and Video Conferencing Policy <br />At the Mid -Year Budget Workshop held on August 15, 2013, Council was presented with <br />options for web streaming City meetings and Council participation in meetings from a remote <br />location through conferencing software such as Skype. <br />City Clerk Michele Lindau informed the Council that staff has been working with Granicus for <br />web streaming of Council meetings, and the product was currently being tested. Beginning in <br />January, City Council meetings will be made available live and on demand through the City's <br />website. <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to table discussion on video conferencing. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Update on Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network activities held recently. There are eight families that have volunteered to be Secret <br />Santas. Scandia School children have put together wish -list packages, and the YRN will be shipping <br />them. Eagan YRN has provided coffee to be shipped to the soldiers. The January 2014 Hamburger <br />Night sponsor will be Lake Area Bank, and most of the year has been filled with sponsors. <br />Update on MnDOT Transportation Meeting <br />Council Member Petryk added this item to the agenda to update the Council of the meeting she <br />attended on December 12, 2013 to discuss transportation in the Metro Area with the message that <br />more money is needed to fund transportation. She talked about the proposed increase in tax and <br />the less money available because fuel efficient and electric vehicles. The majority of attendees <br />supported pedestrian trails and bike paths. There are major discussions that need to be had. She <br />will be attending future meetings and encouraged anyone interested to attend. <br />
