Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for March 7, 2011 <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />Petryk made motion, Weidt seconded, to approve RESOLUTION 2011-2 APPROVING <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR <br />THE SOUTH ETHAN AVENUE AREA ROADWAY, DRAINAGE, AND UTILITY <br />IMPROVEMENTS. <br />Ayes: Weidt, Haas, Petryk, Klein, Miron <br />Nays: None <br />Motion carried. <br />Discussion on Emergency Notification Policy for Elected Officials <br />After a request from Council Member Haas, staff prepared a draft City Emergency Notification <br />Policy for Mayor and Council Members regarding disasters and other emergency related items. <br />Staff provided this notification policy to the Council for review. <br />Debra Barnes, writer for The Citizen, requested to be notified as well. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to adopt the draft notification policy for elected officials. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approve Resolution Approving County Proiect in the City of Hugo for Pavement <br />Preservation on CSAH 9 <br />Washington County Public Works is planning to complete a pavement maintenance project on <br />County State -Aid Highway 9, a small portion of which lies within the City of Hugo. City <br />Engineer Jay Kennedy reviewed the proposed plans for the project which will be cold -in-place <br />recycling with no changes to the alignment or width of the road within Hugo. This project will <br />be done at no cost to the City and is expected to be completed during spring/summer of this year. <br />Jake Gave, Washington County project manager, explained this was simply a pavement <br />maintenance project. <br />Haas made motion, Weidt seconded, to approve RESOLUTION 2011-3 APPROVING <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY CSAH 9 PROJECT WITHIN MUNICIPAL CORPORATE <br />LIMITS. <br />Ayes: Haas, Petryk, Klein, Weidt, Miron <br />Nays: None <br />Motion carried. <br />Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Member Chuck Haas provided an update to the Council on the activities of the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network (YRN). YRN will be partnering with the MN Patriot Guard to send cookies <br />and coffee to the soldiers overseas, and he encouraged donations of cookies or postage. Burger <br />night at the Hugo American Legion has been a success. Burger Night is the 4th Wednesday of <br />each month. Haas also welcomed home the son of Parks Commissioner Roger Clarke. <br />
