Minutes for the Hugo City Council Meeting on June 6, 2010
Page 6 of 7
Petryk made motion, Weidt seconded, to schedule the next I-35W/E Coalition meeting to be held
at the Hugo American on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, where the Yellow Ribbon Network will be
serving burgers to raise money for our military troops.
All Ayes. Motion carried.
Approve Appointment of Council Member to Metropolitan Council Land Use Advisory
Committee (LUAC)
Recently the City of Hugo was contacted by a Metropolitan Council Representative Sandy
Rummel who is seeking the City's interest to have an elected official serve on the Metropolitan
Council's Land Use Land Use Advisory Committee (LUAC). Motion carried.
Discussion on Dead Trees on County Road 8
Council Member Haas added this item to the agenda for discussion on the condition of the
boulevard trees that were planted along the portion of CSAH8 west of TH61. Council Member Weidt recalled that a large number
of trees were replaced last year, and an arborist examined the trees and reported on their findings.
Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to direct staff to forward to the Council as soon as possible a
copy of the report done by the arborist and information on whether there is a contractor's bond
still remaining.
All Ayes. Motion carried.
Yellow Ribbon Network Update
Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein reported to Council events of the Yellow Ribbon
Network. The YRN serves hamburgers on Wednesday nights with the proceeds being used to
assist military families in the area. He was happy to report the Eckberg Lammers Law Firm will
donate the cost of food supplies, which will increase the YRN's profit for the troops.
Discussion on League of Minnesota Insurance Trust (LMIT) Agent
Council Member Haas added this item to the agenda. Gallivan Insurance Agency, a local
agency, has submitted a letter requesting consideration of becoming the City's insurance agent.
It was noted the City has been using the Buelke Agency for many years, and they were appointed
