Minutes for the Hugo City Council Meeting September 7, 2010 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />Approve Resolution Minor Subdivision for Ellen St. Sauver Minor Subdivision on Jeffery <br />Avenue <br />The applicant is requesting approval of a minor subdivision to create three residential lots out of <br />a three -acre outlot and a 37 acre lot located south of 170th and west of Jeffrey Avenue North. The <br />result of the minor subdivision will be two 10 -acre parcels and one 20 -acre parcel. The property <br />is located on Washington County Road 57. At its August 26, 2010 meeting, the Planning <br />Commission considered the request for the minor subdivision. There was no one that spoke at the <br />public hearing except the applicant. Staff recommended approval of the minor subdivision to the <br />Planning Commission. The Planning Commission felt that the request met the standards to <br />approve the minor subdivision and recommended approval to the City Council. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved RESOLUTION 2010 — 41 APPROVING A MINOR SUBDIVISION <br />ON PROPERTY LOCATED SOUTH OF 170" STREET AND WEST OF JEFFREY <br />AVENUE NORTH. <br />Approve Installation of Twenty Additional Library Lockers for Washington County <br />Library Express Kiosk <br />Staff was informed by Washington County Library of the success of the Library Express Kiosk <br />recently installed at Hugo City Hall. The Library Express currently has twenty locker units <br />located near the front entrance to provide easy 24/7 access for users to pick up materials checked <br />out from the library. Due to the overwhelming success of the Library Express, more lockers are <br />needed. Joyce Schneider contacted City Hall requesting approval to install 20 additional library <br />lockers, connecting them to the existing lockers and keypad system at no cost to the City. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the installation of 20 additional library lockers for the <br />Washington County Library Express Kiosk. <br />Approve Hire of Jill Van DenHeuvel as the New Public Works Administrative Intern <br />Annually, the City of Hugo hires interns to work on a variety of projects for the City of Hugo in <br />an effort to introduce young professionals to city government. The City of Hugo recently <br />received an application from Jill Van DenHeuvel who is a recent graduate from the University of <br />Minnesota. City staff has prepared a job description whereby Jill will be assisting the Public <br />Works Director and the Senior Engineering Technician with a number of organization and <br />administrative duties for both departments as well as assisting the City Administrator and City <br />Clerk with CERT training, NIMS training, and the fall General Election. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved the hiring of Jill Van DenHeuvel as the new Public Works <br />Administrative Intern for a six-month internship at a rate of $10 per hour. <br />Approve Authorization for Bids for Watermain Construction on 125th Street for Well #6 <br />As part of the construction of Municipal Well No. 6, it is necessary to complete a watermain <br />extension between the well site and the existing watermain within 125th Street North at Fiona <br />Road. Plans and specifications for the watermain extension are complete and ready to send out <br />for bidding. The bid opening date for the project will be scheduled for October 7, 2010, with an <br />expected completion date of November 30, 2010, and final restoration being completed in the <br />spring 2011. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved authorization for bids for watermain <br />construction on 125th Street for Well #6. <br />
