Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for December 6, 2010 Page 4 of 9 Approve Renewal of Terms for Historical Commissioners Marvella Gamboni, Joyce Granger, Cynthia Schoonover, Kathy Brevis, and Trina Oswald The terms of Historical Commissioners Marvella Gamboni, Joyce Granger, Cynthia Schoonover, and Associate Members Kathy Brevig and Trina Oswald expire at the end of 2010. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the reappointment of Marvella Gamboni, Joyce Granger, and Cynthia Schoonover for three-year terms, and Kathy Brevig and Trina Oswald for two-year terms as associate members. Approve Retirement of Brian Thistle from the EDA and Authorization to Advertise for EDA Vacancy Brian Thistle has submitted his letter of retirement to the City of Hugo for his commissioner position on the Economic Development Authority. Brian's term is scheduled to expire at the end of 2010, and Brian is desirous of spending more time with his growing family. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the retirement of Brian Thistle from the Hugo Economic Development Authority, and directed staff to advertise for the vacancy. Approve Subsurface Sewage Treatment System Inspection Services Agreement with Washington County The City of Hugo received notification the Subsurface Sewage Treatment System Inspection Services Agreement with Washington County expires on January 1, 2011. This agreement is a two-year contract with the City to provide inspection services to for individual sewage treatment systems. The proposed revisions to the Washington County Ordinance 179, Subsurface Sewage Treatment Systems Regulations Ordinance (SSTSRO), have been reviewed by City staff and found to be satisfactory and recommended for approval. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the SSTSRO Agreement with Washington County to provide inspection services for individual septic systems in the rural area of Hugo. Approve Completion of Probationary Period for Parks Planner Shayla Syverson and Appointment as a Regular Employee At its May 4, 2009 meeting, the Council approved the hiring of Shayla Syverson as a Parks and Recreation/Economic Intern for the City of Hugo to work on a wide variety of parks and recreation issues as well as economic development issues. At its May 3, 2010 meeting, the Council approved Shayla Syverson as the new Parks Planner with her primary responsibility as the staff liaison to the Parks and Recreation Commission and to work directly with Commission members and Public Works Director Scott Anderson on the City's park system as well as recreational programming activities in the City of Hugo. Shayla has successfully completed all of her probationary period duties. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment of Shayla Syverson as a regular employee of the City of Hugo.
