Hugo City Council Minutes for July 6, 2009 Page 5 of 11 Approve Probationary Period of Mike McCorkel and Appointment of Firefighter Fire Chief Jim Compton is pleased to inform Council Mike McCorkel has completed the required certifications of Fire Fighterl, 2, and EMT -B during his probation period, which ended on June 18, 2008. Fire Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved removing Mike McCorkel from his probationary status and given rank of Firefighter in the Hugo Fire Department. Approve Encroachment Agreement and Variance for Side Yard Setback for Deck at 15470 Goodview Avenue (Slowikowski) The applicant is requesting a variance for a side yard setback for construction of a 8' X 14 ' patio deck on their home at 15470 Goodview Avenue North. The proposed patio deck will be at the main level of the home and is approximately 18 inches from the ground. The structure would be located two feet from the side property line where a ten foot setback is required by ordinance. The applicant will also need an encroachment agreement to be three feet within the drainage and utility easement. Staff has worked with Senior Engineering Technician Steve Duff and he has stated that the request will not impede on the drainage for the development. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved RESOLUTION 2009-22 APPROVING ENCROACHMENT AGREEMENT AND VARIANCE FOR WILLIAM AND JULIANNE SLOWIKOWSKI ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 15470 GOODVIEW AVENUE NORTH. Approve Rescheduling of the Public Hearing of Sewer and Water Connection Fee Ordinance to August 3, 2009 At its June 1, 2009 meeting, the Hugo City Council listened to a presentation from City Engineer Jay Kennedy in regard to the proposed revisions to the City's Water and Sewer Connection Fee ordinance. Due to public noticing requirements, City staff has scheduled the public hearing for the Sewer and Water Connection Fee Ordinance for Monday, August 3, 2009 at or after 7:00 p.m. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the rescheduling of the public hearing for the Sewer and Water Connection Fee Ordinance for Monday, August 3, 2009 at or after 7:00 p.m. Approve Pay Request No. 4 from Arcon Construction for 2009 Street Reconstruction Proiect The City of Hugo has received Pay Request No. 4 from Arcon Construction for work completed to date on the 2009 Street Reconstruction Project. Senior Engineering Technician Steve Duff has reviewed the pay request and found it to be satisfactory for work completed to date on the project. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved Pay Request No. 4 in the amount of $218,506.20 for work completed to date on the 2009 Street Reconstruction Project. Approve Recommendation from EDA to Certify TIF District to State of Minnesota At its June 15, 2009 meeting, the Economic Development Authority (EDA) listened to a presentation from Associate Planner Rachel Simone in regard to issues related to when the City of Hugo should certify the Tax Increment Financing (TIF).
