Adoption of the Consent Agenda
approved the 2009-2010 annual trail application from the Rice Creek Trail Snowmobile Club.
Update on City Clean -Up Day Held on Saturday, October 3, 2009
On Saturday, October 3, 2009, the City of Hugo held its third Annual Fall Clean-up where
residents and property owners could bring refuse and household hazardous waste to the City's
Public Works Department to dispose of them at little or no cost. The third annual event was very
successful with overall citizen participation up 20% from last year's event causing many
residents to wait approximately one hour in line. The cleanup was conducted by City staff,
Washington County staff, Gene's Disposal, and J.R.'s Appliance. Councilmembers Phil Klein
and Tom Weidt were also present. Public Works Director Scott Anderson provided to the
Council data on the volume of waste collected which included over 6 tons of paint, 32,000
pounds of electronic waste, and 17,000 pounds of trash. Because of the volume, Scott suggested
that a spring clean be held in addition to the annual fall clean up.
