City Council Meeting of February 4, 2008 <br />Page 4 of 7 <br />submitted Payment Request #5 to the City of Hugo for work completed to date on the Oakshore <br />Park public improvement project. Senior Engineering Technician Scott Anderson had reviewed <br />the pay request and found it to be satisfactory for work completed on the project. <br />Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to approve Pay Request #5 from Arcon Construction in the <br />amount of $88,031.90 for work completed to date on the Oakshore Park public improvement <br />project. <br />Ayes: Haas, Puleo, Miron <br />Abstain: Granger Petryk <br />Motion carried. <br />UPDATE ON WASHINGTON COUNTY TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />(TAQ 7-8-9 PROJECT <br />Over the past several months, City staff has attended meetings with Washington County officials <br />and its project management team for the Washington County Technical Advisory Committee <br />(TAC) 7-8-9 Project. Washington County Transportation Planner Mike Rogers provided the <br />Council an update on work completed to date on the study and an analysis of the TAC 7-8-9 <br />Project. Rogers explained the study would identify deficiencies with C SAH 8 and determine the <br />best east/west alignment considering the impacts it would have on CSAH 7 and CSAH 9. County <br />Commissioner Dennis Hegberg spoke about recreational trails in the area and encouraged those <br />individuals advocating for trails to come forward. Rogers announced the next open house on the <br />TAC 7-8-9 Project would be on March 5, 2008, at the Rice Lake Park Centre from 4:00 p.m. to <br />7:00 p.m. No formal action was taken. <br />RESCHEDULE FEBRUARY 21,20081-35 W/E COALITION MEETING <br />At its January 22, 2008 meeting, the Hugo City Council selected February 21 as the next <br />regularly scheduled meeting of the I-35 W/E Coalition. City staff had contacted members of the <br />coalition and discovered that February 21 was not a good meeting date. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to hold the next regularly scheduled meeting of the I-35 <br />W/E Coalition on February 28 or March 13 depending on the availability of other members of <br />the coalition. <br />All Aye. Motion carried. <br />DISCUSSION ON WASHINGTON COUNTY'S PROPOSED TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />IMPROVEMENTS AT TH61 AND CSAH 4 <br />Over the past two years, the Hugo City Council and City staff have continued to discuss issues <br />related to the condition of the intersection at TH61 and CSAH 4. Council directed staff to work <br />with Washington County engineer officials to prepare an engineering analysis of the intersection <br />taking into account the accident counts at the intersection. Staff has received recent information <br />from Washington County that the priority ranking of the intersection has risen due to a number <br />of recent accidents within the past several months and over the past two years. The complied <br />data has moved the intersection up to the #1 ranking status in Washington County for receiving <br />
