City Council meeting of May 21, 2007 <br />Page 3 <br />APPROVE RESIGNATION OF TONY GROFF FROM PARKS COMMISSION AND <br />AUTHORIZE STAFF TO ADVERTISE <br />City staff has received a letter of resignation from Tony Groff, who is the newest commissioner on the <br />Parks Commission. Unfortunately, Tony and his wife are moving out of Hugo and he regretfully has <br />resigned his position on the Commission. Adoption of the Consent Agenda accepted the letter of <br />resignation from Tony Groff and authorized staff to advertise for the vacancy. <br />APPROVE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW FOR PUBLIC WORKS WORKER RICK <br />KIEFFER <br />Rick Kieffer was hired by the City on May 31, 2005, returning to employment with the City after some <br />private sector work experience. Over the past two years, Rick has worked hard and demonstrated an <br />excellent work ethic and ability to complete any duties and responsibilities in the public work <br />department. Rick is a respected and committed member of the public works department, who is always <br />on time and ready to work. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the annual performance review <br />for public works worker Rick Kieffer. <br />APPROVE PAY REQUEST NO.3 FROM KEYS WELL DRILLING FOR WORK <br />COMPLETED ON WELL NO.5 <br />The City has received pay request No. 3 from Keys Well Drilling for work completed to date on well <br />No. 5 in the Waters Edge neighborhood. PW Director Chris Petree and Senior Engineering Technician <br />Scott Anderson have reviewed the pay request and found it to be consistent for work completed on the <br />project. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved pay request No. 3 in the amount of $10,212.50 for <br />work completed to date on the construction of well No. 5 in the Waters Edge neighborhood. <br />APPROVE PAY REQUEST NO.2 FROM C.W. HOULE FOR WORK COMPLETED ON THE <br />129 STREET PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />The City has received pay request No. 2 from C.W. Houle for work completed to date on the 129'" Street <br />public improvement project. Senior Engineering Technician Scott Anderson has reviewed the pay <br />request and found it to be consistent for work completed on the project. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved pay request No. 2 in the amount of $191,092.93 for work completed to date on the <br />129' Street public improvement project. <br />APPROVE VARIANCE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A DECK AT 5713 128TH STREET (HILL) <br />The applicant is requesting a variance for a front yard setback for construction of a 12' X 24' wrap <br />around deck on their home at 5713128th Street North. The structure would be located 18 feet from the <br />front property line where a 30 -foot setback is required by ordinance. The property is a corner lot which <br />results in having two front yards on the north and the west side of the property. There is a deck door on <br />the west side of the house and the applicant would like to utilize the door for access to the deck. The <br />Board of Zoning and Adjustments considered this item at a public hearing on May 10, 2007 and voted to <br />recommend approval of the variance. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the variance for <br />
