City Council meeting of June 18, 2007 <br />Page 6 <br />SCHEDULE MID -YEAR COUNCIL BUDGET WORKSHOP <br />Included in its 2007 ongoing priorities, Council requested that a mid -year Council budget workshop be <br />scheduled in order for the finance department to provide up-to-date projections of the City's budget for 2007, as <br />well as a potential forecast for 2008. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule a mid -year budget workshop for Wednesday, July 18, 2007, <br />7:00 pm, to discuss the City's 2007 budget, as well as projections for the 2008 budget. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE STP APPLICATION TO MNDOT FOR TH61 IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN DOWNTOWN <br />HUGO <br />Council member Mike Granger, along with City Engineer Jay Kennedy, City Traffic Engineer Chuck Rickart, <br />and CD Director Bryan Bear have been meeting with officials from MnDOT and Washington County for the past <br />several months regarding proposed future improvements to the TH 61 corridor within the City. The Met Council <br />is currently accepting applications for federal funding for fiscal year 2011, and staff recommends that the City <br />apply for funding for the segment of TH 61 within downtown Hugo. Traffic Engineer Rickart reviewed the <br />proposed application with Council. Mayor Fran Miron suggested that Congressman Jim Oberstar's office be <br />contacted inviting someone from his office to participate in the City's bus tour on September 18'h. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the STP application to MnDOT for the TH61 improvement.. <br />within downtown Hugo. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />DISCUSSION ON FUNDING WASHINGTON COUNTY EXTENSION PROGRAM <br />Mayor Fran Miron informed Council that the Washington County Board is considering removing funding of the <br />Washington County Extension Program for 2008. Mayor Miron and the City Administrator will formulate a <br />resolution for submittal to the Board outlining the reasons why the program should continue to be funded. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2007-32 SUPPORTING CONTINUED <br />FUNDING OF WASHINGTON COUNTY EXTENSION PROGRAMS. <br />VOTING AYE: Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 2, 2007 <br />Council member Frank Puleo questioned whether there would be a quorum present at the Council meeting of <br />July 2, 2007 as the July 4h holiday falls on Wednesday of that week. It was determined that a quorum would <br />present and the meeting will be held as scheduled. <br />
