Motion Carried. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims roster for May 15, 2006 as presented. <br />APPROVE RETIREMENT OF GREG BURMEISTER FROM HUGO FIRE DEPT. <br />Long-time firefighter Greg Burmeister has submitted his letter of retirement from the HFD. Greg's fire <br />service training began in the military in 1971, and over the past 35 years, he has served on three different <br />fire departments. Greg has served as an active firefighter on the HFD for the past sixteen years, and <br />more recently, the deputy fire chief. Due to medical reasons, Greg has submitted his letter of retirement. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the retirement of Greg Burmeister to be effective May 15, <br />2006. <br />APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF MATT STEMWEDEL AS ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN <br />At its April 3, 2006 meeting, Council authorized City staff to advertise for an administrative intern, who <br />would assist the City Administrator and City Clerk in a variety of duties. The City received a total of 13 <br />applications for the position, and staff completed interviews of six of the candidates, whose education <br />and qualifications best fit the City's needs. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment <br />of Matthew Stemwedel as the new administrative intern, beginning work on May 15, 2006 for six <br />months at a salary of $10/hr. <br />
