City Council meeting of June 19, 2006 <br />Page 7 <br />DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED MEAT MARKET AT 15449 FOREST BOULEVARD <br />The EDA met June 19, 2006 and discussed the proposed meat market/processing business at 15449 <br />Forest Boulevard. Presently, the zoning ordinance allows the retail meat market but not the processing <br />business. CD Director Bryan Bear provided Council with a visual of the property, as well as a site plan <br />of the proposed business. The EDA recommended Council consider a zoning text amendment to allow <br />the meat processing business with a CUP. <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to move ahead with the zoning text amendment <br />process. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE SITE PLAN/VARIANCE FOR FLEISCHHAKER OFFICE PARK (FAULKNER) <br />At its June 8, 2006 meeting, the Hugo Planning Commission reviewed the site plan and variance request <br />for Fleischhacker Office Condominium located at 5448 140th Street. The applicant is requesting a site <br />plan approval of two proposed office condominium buildings located immediately north of Rick's <br />Liquor and the Hugo American Legion, and a variance for the parking regulations. In March, Mr. <br />Fleischhacker demolished a blighted duplex that was on the front part of the property, and came to the <br />City stating that he wanted to redevelop the property. Mr. Fleischhacker has now demolished the <br />existing building for redevelopment. The Planning Commission voted to approve the site plan and <br />variance subject to the conditions outlined in the attached resolution. CD intern Rachel Simone <br />provided Council with a PowerPoint presentation outlining the project, as well as an architectural <br />rendering of the proposed building. <br />Granger made motion, Petryk seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2006-34 APPROVING A SITE PLAN <br />AND VARIANCE FOR FLEISCHHACKER OFFICE CONDOMINIUM AT 5448 140TH STREET. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />SCHEDULE WORKSHOP WITH COUNCIL TO DISCUSS EMPLOYEE SALARY MATRIX <br />Included in its 2006 City Focus Goals, Council directed staff to schedule a mid -year workshop to review <br />the City's employee salary matrix. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, directing staff to provide results of the Twin Cities Salary Survey, <br />comparing City salaries, prior to scheduling of a workshop. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MNDOT GRANT APPLICATION FOR SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROGRAM <br />City staff recently received new information from MnDOT on a grant program for sidewalks for <br />neighborhood routing to schools. Council may be interested in this grant program as it related to the <br />
