City Council meeting of July 17, 2006 <br />Page 3 <br />APPROVE BID AWARD TO FRATTALONE COMPANIES FOR DEMOLITION OF HOUSES <br />AND 14625 AND 14687 FOREST BLVD. <br />At its April 17, 2006 meeting, Council directed City Staff to solicit quotations for the demolition of the <br />City -owned houses at 14625 & 14687 Forest Blvd that are in disrepair and not rentable. Prior to <br />soliciting quotes, staff contracted with Pinnacle Engineering to complete a pre -demolition survey and <br />asbestos abatement plan. Staff then solicited quotes from seven contractors and received five quotes. <br />Frattalone Companies submitted the low quote for both houses at $29,550. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved a demolition contract to Frattalone Companies, at the low bid of $29,550 for the <br />demolition of the houses located at 14625 and 14687 Forest Blvd. <br />APPROVE LAWFUL GAMBLING PERMIT FOR PULL TAB SALES AT BLACKSMITH <br />LOUNGE (DEAD BROKE SADDLE CLUB) <br />The Dead Broke Saddle Club submitted a lawful gambling permit for the sale of pull tabs at Blacksmith <br />Lounge. As Council is aware, the charitable gambling permit allows the Dead Broke Saddle Club to put <br />the proceeds back in the community for charitable service projects. City staff reviewed the application <br />and found it to be satisfactory and complete. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the lawful <br />gambling permit for the sale of pull tabs at the Blacksmith Lounge for the Dead Broke Saddle Club. <br />APPROVE TEMPORARY 3.2 ON -SALE BEER LICENSE FOR AUGUST 12-13.2006 <br />CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION (HUGO LIONS CLUB) <br />The Hugo Lions Club made application to the City of Hugo for a temporary 3.2 On -Sale Beer License in <br />order to conduct the sale of beer during the Hugo Centennial Celebration. The activity is scheduled for <br />the weekend of August 12-13, 2006. City staff reviewed the application and found it to be satisfactorily <br />complete, along with the necessary liquor liability insurance. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved <br />the temporary 3.2 On -Sale Beer License for the Hugo Lions Club to conduct sales during the City's <br />Centennial Celebration Activities on August 12-13, 2006. <br />APPROVE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW FOR PW DIRECTOR CHRIS PETREE <br />Chris Petree was hired by the City of Hugo on July 19, 1999, as the new Public Works Maintenance <br />Employee. Over the past seven years, Chris has worked diligently to help the City develop a Public <br />Works Department and construct a new public works facility. Chris demonstrates an excellent work <br />ethic and has excellent leadership skills. Chris's commitment and loyalty to the City of Hugo is second <br />to none and he is a valued member of the City Hall team. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the <br />annual performance review for Public Works Director Chris Petree. <br />APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF BRIAN THISTLE AS NEW COMMISSIONER ON EDA <br />At its June 19 2006 meeting, Council accepted the letter of resignation from EDA Commissioner Nick <br />Skarich, who resigned due to a change in his employment and relocation. City staff advertised for the <br />position, and after a meeting with Mayor Fran Miron, conducted an interview with Brian Thistle. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment of Brian Thistle as the new Commissioner <br />on the EDA, filling out the remaining term of Commissioner Nick Skarich. <br />
