City Council meeting of March 7, 2005 <br />Page 3 <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the variance request to place a private signs in public right of <br />way for a monument sign for Fenway Place development. <br />APPROVE VARIANCE FOR OVERSIZED GARAGE AT 12823 GREYSTONE AVENUE <br />NORTH (HIDDEN HILLS) <br />Bacchus Homes, Inc. has requested approval to construct a 1,124 square foot attached garage to the <br />home being constructed at 12823 Greystone Avenue North. The parcel is 2.5 acres in size and legally <br />described as Lot 8, Block 2, Hidden Hills Development. The Board of Zoning Adjustments considered <br />this matter at its meeting of February 24, 2005 and unanimously recommended approval of the variance <br />request. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the variance request to construct a 1,124 sq ft <br />oversized garage at 12823 Greystone Avenue North. <br />APPROVE REDUCTION IN LETTER OF CREDIT FROM CENTEX HOMES (HERITAGE <br />PONDS) <br />Centex Homes requested a reduction in the letter of credit being held for the private and private <br />improvements in the Heritage Ponds neighborhood. City staff has been working with the contractor over <br />the past several months to address issues regarding the project and is confident that they will be <br />completed to the satisfaction of the City. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the reduction in the <br />letter of credit for Centex Homes for the private and public improvements in the Heritage Ponds <br />neighborhood to $56,764 for grading and $582,550 for street and utility improvements. <br />APPROVE REDUCTION IN LETTER OF CREDIT FROM EMMERICH DEVELOPMENT <br />(DIAMOND POINT WEST) <br />Emmerich Development Corporation requested a reduction in the letter of credit being held for the <br />public and private improvements in the Diamond Point West, Phase 3. The developer has completed the <br />utilities, curb and gutter, and base course paving on the project. Staff is confident that the final items <br />will be completed to the satisfaction of City staff. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the <br />reduction in the letter of credit for Emmerich Development for newly constructed public and private <br />improvements in the Diamond Point West Phase 3 to $100,096.50. <br />APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF TOM WEIDT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND <br />ADVERTISE FOR PARKS COMMISSION VACANCY <br />On Monday, February 28, 2005, Council interviewed four applicants for the vacancy on the Planning <br />Commission created by the retirement of long-time Commissioner Sandy Malaski. After interviews and <br />thorough review, Council agreed to appoint Tom Weidt to fill the vacancy on the Planning Commission. <br />As Council is aware, Tom has served for four years on the Parks Commission and seeks a change in his <br />volunteer service to the community. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment of Tom <br />Weidt as the newest Commissioner on the Planning Commission and directed staff to advertise for his <br />vacancy on the Parks Commission, for his term, which is set to expire on March 31, 2005. <br />
