Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE DRAFT RESOLUTION FOR LEGISLATION CHANGE FOR LOCAL ASSESSOR <br />At its February 7, 2005 meeting, Council discussed proposed legislation to change the method by which <br />county boards can remove a local assessor. Staff proposed language whereby current statute specified, <br />"by resolution" interpreted as a simple majority to language of super majority. Staff has drafted a <br />resolution reflecting Council position and support for new legislation. Staff seeks Council direction as <br />to a meeting with local legislators for formally draft new legislation. <br />Petryk made motion, seconded by Haas, to adopt RESOLUTION 2005-8 SUPPORTING CHANGE IN <br />STATE STATUTE TO REQUIRE A SUPER MAJORITY COUNTY BOARD VOTE TO REMOVE A <br />LOCAL ASSESOR. <br />VOTING AYE: Puleo, Miron, Petryk, Haas <br />Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH RCWD FOR MINOR MAINTENANCE FOR JD2 <br />At its joint meeting with the RCWD on January 14, 2005, Council accepted the compromise agreement <br />with RCWD for minor maintenance of JD2 for the next 18 months. Staff was directed to prepare a <br />Cooperative Agreement outlining the stipulation of agreement and that Agreement has been drafted for <br />review by Council. This item was discussed by Council at its February 22, 2005 meeting, and staff was <br />directed to make final revisions and bring back the completed draft for final approval by Council. <br />Miron made motion, seconded by Haas, to direct staff to continue making changes to the agreement to <br />bring back to the City Council for formal approval. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />UPDATE ON EVERTON AVENUE SPEED STUDY AND TURN BACK <br />After residents on Everton Avenue raised concerns about speeding, staff contacted the Washington <br />County Sheriff s Department, who conducted a speed study in December 2004. A copy of the report <br />was provided to Council. Residents have also requested that the City direct Pulte Homes to barricade <br />the north end of the road since satisfactory road access has been completed to the Water's Edge <br />development. Staff has informed Todd Baumgartner from Pulte Homes about this responsibility, as <br />noted in the Development Agreement, and he has agreed to comply. No formal action taken. <br />JUNE 16.2005 WASHINGTON COUNTY INVESTMENT BOARD MEETING <br />At its January 24, 2005 meeting, the EDA listed to a presentation from the Washington County <br />
