City Council meeting of January 5, 2004 <br />Page 4 <br />APPROVE RESCHEDULE OF JANUARY 20M AS 2ND REGULAR MEETING OF MONTH <br />DUE TO MARTIN LUTHER KING HOLIDAY <br />The federal holiday for the Martin Luther King birthday falls on Monday, January 19, 2004. City staff <br />recommends Council approve the rescheduling the 2°d regular meeting of January to Tuesday, January <br />20, 2004 at 7:00 pm. <br />APPROVE APRIL 29, 2004 AS ANNUAL BOARD OF APPEAL & EQUALIZATION <br />Each year, the Washington County Auditor's office recommends days for the City's annual Board of <br />Appeal and Equalization meeting. The meeting will take place at City Hall at 10:00 am. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda accepted the recommendation from the County Auditor and approves Thursday, <br />April 29, 2004 as the City's annual Board of Appeal and Equalization. <br />APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRPERSON FOR PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The Council has appointed Dave Schumann as the Chairperson for the Planning Commission for the <br />past two years. He has worked hard over the past year and helped to build a strong cohesiveness with <br />the PC. He has treated persons appearing before the PC with respect and dignity. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda appointed Dave Schumann as Chair of the PC for 2004. <br />APPOINTMENT OF VICE CHAIR FOR PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The Council appointed Sandy Malaski as the Vice Chair for the Planning Commission for the past two <br />years. Adoption of the Consent Agenda appointed Sandy Malaski as the Vice Chair for the PC for <br />2004. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims roster for January 5, 2004 as presented. <br />APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR SIDE YARD SETBACK <br />On August 18, 2003, Council approved an amendment to the existing ordinance to return the side yard <br />setback in the agriculture, rural residential, long -tens agriculture, and future urban reserve zoning <br />districts to 20 feet for all buildings. A formal ordinance was not approved at that time. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda approved adoption of Ordinance 2004-382 establishing the side yard setback in <br />the agriculture, rural residential, long-term agriculture, and future urban reserve zoning districts to 20 <br />feet for all buildings. <br />APPROVE REAPPOINTMENT OF RON MCROBERTS TO 3 -YEAR TERM AS PLANNING <br />COMMISSION MEMBER <br />At its December 15, 2003, Council discussed the term of Planning Commissioner Ron McRoberts, <br />whose 3 -year term was expiring on 12/31/03.
