City Council meeting of March 1, 2004 <br />Page 6 <br />recognition of his years of public service recognizing him for his many years of volunteerism to the <br />City of Hugo and its Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 20048 RECOGNIZING DAVID <br />STRUB FOR HIS SIX YEARS OF VOLUNTEERISM AND PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE PARKS <br />AND RECREATION COMMISSION. <br />VOTING AYE: Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY BID OPENING ON FEBRUARY 25.2004 <br />On Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at 2:00 pm, a total of 18 bids were opened by City staff and City <br />architect Bob Russek from Elsness Swenson and Graham Architects. Council members Granger and <br />Puleo were in attendance. Bob reviewed the bids, and along with a recommendation from the PW <br />Building Committee, who met on Thursday, February 26, 2004, recommended that Council award the <br />contract for the construction of the new public works facility to Parkos Construction, with a low bid of <br />$1,192,300, and further recommended acceptance of Alternate #I at a cost of $139,800, and to delay a <br />decision on Alternate #2 for a period of 30 days. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to award the contract for construction of the new public works <br />facility to Parkos Construction, with a low bid of $1,192,300, accept Alternate #1 at a cost of <br />$139,800, and delay a decision on Alternate #2 for a period of 30 days. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE MINOR SUBDIVISION FOR CURT LEIBEL AT 16740 HENNA AVENUE <br />Curt Leibel requested approval of a minor subdivision to create three 10 -acre residential lots on a 30 -acre <br />parcel located east of Henna Avenue and north of 165" Street. A public hearing on this request was held <br />on February 12, 2004 and the Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of this <br />request. City Planner Kendra Lindahl noted that the survey would need to be updated to show an <br />accessory building on Parcel "C" that had not been previously noted. Also, City ordinance does not allow <br />for construction of an accessory building prior to construction of the principal structure. After discussion <br />with the applicant: <br />Petryk made motion, Miron seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2004-9 APPROVING A MINOR <br />SUBDIVISION FOR CURT LEIBEL FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 16740 HENNA AVE NO. <br />VOTING AYE: Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />UPDATE ON WEST ONEKA LAKE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (PHASE 3) <br />Pete Willenbring from WSB Engineers provided Council with an update on Phase 3 portion of the <br />West Oneka Lake Improvement Project, as well as implementation options.
