City Council meeting of September 7, 2004 <br />Page 3 <br />APPROVE FINAL PAYMENT TO LAMETTI & SONS FOR WORK COMPLETED ON THE <br />PELOQUIN INDUSTRIAL P.I. PROJECT <br />SEH engineer Dave Mitchell received the final pay request from Lametti & Sons for work completed on <br />the Peloquin Industrial public improvement project. This final work was related to final landscaping <br />restoration of the property, on both the east and west sides of TH61. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />approved final payment to Lametti & Sons in the amount of $18,173.11 for final payment for work <br />completed on the Peloquin Industrial Park public improvement project. <br />APPROVE INCREASED WORK HOURS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN TOM <br />DENAWAY <br />At its August 16, 2004 meeting, Council accepted the resignation from Deputy Clerk Renee' <br />Cunningham. Renee's final day of employment was August 31, 20024. In order to provide satisfactory <br />coverage of her position, staff suggested the use of administrative intern Tom Denaway, who has been <br />trained for duties of building department technician, and who would then work in that position until <br />Renee's replacement is hired. As Council is aware, Tom currently works 32 hours a week. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda approved the increase in work hours from 32 to 40 and authorized an hourly wage <br />increase from $10 to $11, as prescribed in the part-time City employee matrix. <br />APPROVE DONATION FROM WILSON TOOL TO THE HUGO FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Each year, Wilson Tool holds an employee appreciation day in Lions Park. Consistently throughout the <br />years, Wilson Tool made a donation to the HFD for its efforts in providing public demonstration of HFD <br />trucks and equipment. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the $400 donation from Wilson Tool <br />to the HFD for its efforts on Wilson Tool's employee appreciation day. <br />APPROVING HIRING OF TWO PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEES <br />At its June 19, 2004 meeting, Council authorized staff to advertise for two public works maintenance <br />positions to cover both the resignation of Rick Kieffer and the position included in the 2004 City budget. <br />City staff received 169 applications for the positions, of which 24 applicants were interviewed for first <br />time and ten applicants were interviewed for a second time. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved <br />the hiring of Paul Christianson and Tim Kieffer as the new public works employees, effective 9/27/04, <br />and subject to the standard pre-employment physical and six-month probationary period. <br />APPROVE FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF CREEKVIEW (CENTEX HOMES) <br />On behalf of the developer, Centex Homes, Westwood Professional Services requested the City accept <br />the constructed public improvements for the Creekview development. Acceptance of the improvements <br />would begin a one-year warranty period, and at the end of one year, the project would be considered <br />complete and maintenance activities would become the responsibility of the City. The City will hold a <br />Letter of Credit in the amount equal to 25% of the total cost of the public improvements, or $168,750 <br />during the one year warranty period. Adoption of the Consent Agenda accepted the public improvement <br />improvements for the Creekview development. <br />
