City Council meeting of September 7, 2004 <br />Page 4 <br />APPROVE ENCROACHMENT AGREEMENT FOR PORCH/DECK AT 5856128TH STREET <br />NORTH (BOEKE) <br />Phil and Alison Boeke, 5856 128h Alcove North, applied for an encroachment agreement to construct a <br />porch/deck to the rear of their home that would encroach one foot into the drainage and utility easement. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the encroachment agreement for 5856 128' Alcove North. <br />APPROVE AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BUILDING INSPECTOR <br />At its August 27, 2004 budget workshop meeting, Council listened to a presentation from Finance <br />Director Ron Otkin regarding the proposed staffing that will be needed for 2005; specifically, to address <br />the significant increases in both residential building permits and commercial construction, it is necessary <br />to begin the process of advertising for a building inspector to provide satisfactory staffing levels. <br />Council concurred with staffs recommendation and agreed that it was necessary to begin the process <br />now in order to provide time for that person to be brought up to speed over the next several months in <br />order to learn the City's building department. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the <br />authorization to advertise and post for the position of building inspector. <br />AUTHORIZATION TO RECEIVE BIDS FOR DEMOLITION OF THE RICE HOUSE <br />As part of the requirement for full funding of the FEMA grant, the City is required to remove all <br />structures from the property, seal the well, remove the septic system and restore the site. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda authorized City staff to receive bids to complete this work. <br />APPROVE DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT/FINAL PLAT FOR VICTOR GARDENS SOUTH <br />VILLAGE <br />POA -Scherer, LLC requested approval of Victor Gardens South Village final plat, which includes 4 <br />commercial lots, 14 townhome units and 2 outlots on this 12.62 -acre property located south of <br />Frenchman Road (County Road 8) and west of Everton Avenue North. Victor Gardens South Village is <br />the first phase of commercial area in Victor Gardens. Adoption of the Consent Agenda adopted of <br />Resolution 2004-68 for approval of the final plat and development agreement for Victor Gardens South <br />Village. <br />APPROVE DATE FOR CITY HALL HOLIDAY PARTY <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the selection of Thursday, December 2, 2004 for the annual <br />City Hall Holiday Party. <br />APPROVE SEPTEMBER 23, 2004 I-35 W/E TRI -CITIES COALITION MEETING <br />At its May 20, 2004 meeting, the Tri -Cities Coalition voted to rename itself the I-35W/E Coalition. The <br />newly -named Coalition scheduled Thursday, September 23, 2004 for its next regular meeting. Adoption <br />of the Consent Agenda approved September 23, 2004 as the next I-35 WE Coalition meeting. <br />
