City Council meeting of December 20, 2004
Page 3
APPROVE EXTENSION OF INTERNSHIP FOR ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN
Included in the Council's 2005 budget is a 12 -month administrative or planning internship program.
Currently, administrative intern Tom Denaway has provided an excellent level service to the City, while
enrolled at the Metropolitan State Masters of Administrative Degree Program. Tom has completed a
number of significant projects for the City in 2004, including hiring of the City's new CD Director,
building department technician, and building inspector. Tom was also responsible for recreation of the
EDA, as well as an extensive amount of code enforcement activities. At this time, with the
recommendation of the CD Director, staff recommended Council approve the 90 -day extension of
Tom's internship, where he will work under the direct supervision of the CD Director and focus his
activities on regular planning duties. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the 90 -day extension of
the planning internship for current administrative intern Tom Denaway.
V
North Valley, Inc. has made application for approval of pay request #1 for the road and bituminous work
completed on 132nd Street. WSB Engineer Mark Erichson and Senior Engineering Technician Scott
Anderson have reviewed the request and found it to be consistent for work completed to date on the
project. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved payment in the amount of $100,608.63.
APPROVE 2005 LICENSE RENEWALS FOR REFUSE HAULERS
Each year, the City extends applications to refuse haulers for renewal of their operating licenses. All
seven haulers in the City would like to have their licenses extended for 2005. Council member Puleo
asked that this item be removed from the Consent Agenda for discussion. The City had received a letter
from a resident regarding the City using only one hauler. Staff should respond stating that this Council
is not interested in licensing only one hauler.
Puleo made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the 2005 license renewals for the City's refuse haulers:
DoAll Service; Gene's Disposal; Ace Solid Waste; Waste Management; Maroney's; SRC, Inc., and BFI.
All aye. Motion Carried.
APPROVE DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT AND FINAL PLAT FOR DIAMOND POINT
WEST 3RD ADDITION
The developer is requesting approval of Diamond Point West 3rd Addition. This is the third and final
phase of the Diamond Point West development and includes 7 single family homes. The Goodview
Avenue construction plans were approved by the City Council in October and the developer will begin
construction of Goodview as soon as weather conditions allow. Staff found that the final plat is
consistent with the approved PUD general plan and preliminary plat. Council member Granger
requested that this item be removed from the Consent Agenda for discussion. He asked that developer
Mike Quigley update Council on the status of road improvement to Goodview Avenue.
