City Council meeting of December 20, 2004 <br />Page 5 <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, directing staff to schedule a public works facility walk through for <br />January 31, 2004 at 7:00 pm and begin a website naming contest for the community room. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />REVIEW TRAFFIC SPEED STUDY FOR ELMCREST AVENUE <br />The City requested that MnDOT complete a speed study on two segments of Elmcrest Avenue: from <br />129'h Street to the Hugo/Lino Lakes City limits, and from County Road 8 to County Road 4 MnDOT <br />has completed the study, and City Engineer Jay Kennedy presented the results to the City Council. <br />Petryk made motion, Puleo seconded, directing staff to work with Lino Lakes and install speed limit <br />signs as recommended by MnDOT. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />UPDATE ON DOWNTOWN TRAFFIC STUDY <br />At its September 7, 2004 meeting, Council directed City Engineer Jay Kennedy to complete a downtown <br />transportation study in conjunction with the downtown redevelopment planning completed earlier this <br />year. WSB Engineers completed a draft of the transportation study, and met with Washington County <br />and MnDOT to review the results. Chuck Rickart with WSB reviewed the transportation study and, <br />specifically, needed changes to TH61. Council member Granger felt it important that the City take the <br />initiative and approach MnDOT outlining needed changes. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to schedule a joint daytime workshop with <br />MnDOT and area legislators, to share the City's downtown traffic study. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SCHEDULE JOINT COUNCIL/PLANNING COMMISSION WORKSHOP TO DISCUSS <br />RURAL & OPEN SPACE COMMITTEE CONCLUSIONS <br />At the joint Planning Commission and City Council workshop on November 18, 2004, Council heard <br />public comment regarding a draft ordinance prepared by the Rural and Open Space Committee. It was <br />decided at the workshop that another joint Planning Commission and City Council meeting should be <br />scheduled to discuss the topics of density and minimum parcel size before a final draft of the ordinance <br />is prepared for consideration by the Planning Commission at a public hearing. <br />Granger made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule a joint Council/Planning Commission for January <br />27, 2005, at 6:30 pm, to discuss rural & open space committee conclusions. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
