City Council meeting of January 6, 2003 <br />Page 5 <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to appoint Pete Willenbring as the City's Water Resource <br />Engineer, Kendra Lindahl as the City Planner/Planning Consultant, and Dave Snyder as the City <br />Attorney for the year 2003. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPOINTMENT OF CITY ENGINEER <br />City Engineer Dave Mitchell and the engineering firm of SEH have served the City well over the past <br />year. After discussion about the creation of the engineering technician position: <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to reappoint Dave Mitchell at the City Engineer for 2003. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MAY 1. 2003 AS ANNUAL BOARD.OF APPEAL/EOUALIZATION MEETING <br />Annually, the Washington County Auditor's office recommended that the City's annual Board of Appeal <br />and Equalization meeting be held on May 1, 2003 at 10:00 am. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to table this matter in an' attempt to schedule the meeting during <br />evening hours. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE CHARITABLE GAMBLING LICENSE AT RICCI'S (DEAD BROKE SADDLE <br />CLUB) <br />The Dead Broke Saddle Club made application to the City for approval of a charitable gambling license <br />to sell pull -tabs at Ricci's located 14777 Forest Blvd. City staff reviewed the application materials and <br />found them to be properly completed. The Council had numerous questions regarding the gambling <br />operation and fees/taxes associated with the application. <br />Puleo made motion, Haas seconded, to table this matter to obtain information regarding the City's <br />responsibility/control for gambling licenses. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REAPPOINTMENTS <br />At its December 19, 2002 meeting, the Council reviewed the performance of Planning Commission <br />members Teddy Peltier and David Schumann. Council stated that they would consider the <br />reappointment of the Planning Commissioners at the next regularly scheduled Council meeting on <br />January 6, 2003. Mayor Fran Miron and Council members discussed the performance of the <br />Commissioners. The City received one application from the advertisement in the City's Newsletter <br />distributed to Hugo residents the week of Christmas and five phone contacts. Council member Puleo <br />
