City Council meeting of February 3, 2003 <br />Page 6 <br />PROPOSED PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR CITY -OWNED 13 ACRES (BEIP 5m ADDN) <br />The City of Hugo is requesting preliminary plat approval for six industrial lots for a plat to be known as <br />Bald Eagle Industrial Park 516 Addition. The subject property is approximately 13 acres in size. The <br />Planning Commission reviewed the request on January 23, 2003 and recommended approval by a <br />unanimous vote. CD Director John Rask provided the Council with an update on pending land sales. <br />Council concurred that the City should obtain individual purchase agreements from prospective buyers <br />as soon as possible. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2003-8 APPROVING A PRELIMINARY <br />PLAT FOR BEIP Sm ADDITION and authorize WSB to prepare final construction plans and advertise <br />for bids. <br />VOTING AYE: Haas, Petryk, PuIe6, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />FEDERAL FUNDING APPLICATION FOR INTERCHANGE UPGRADE AT CSAR 144-35E <br />The district director for Congressman Mark Kennedy notified the City of Hugo of a federal funding <br />application deadline of February 21, 2003 that should be considered by the City for potential federal <br />funds. The tri -city coalition may be interested in the grant to upgrade the interchange at F35E and <br />CSAH 14. <br />Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, directing staff to represent the City Council at the Washington <br />County Board meeting of February 4, 2003 regarding this matter and request Washington County to <br />assist the City with the grant application. <br />All aye. Motion Carried <br />RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT LEGISLATION TO PROVIDE FUND OPTIONS FOR CITY . <br />STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />League of Minnesota Cities Director Jim Miller submitted information regarding the municipal state aid <br />roads in the State of Minnesota and the need for additional funding from the state. The League also <br />included a resolution of support for Council approval, which includes, among other things, a directive to <br />the state legislature to very seriously consider the funding of local roads and an increase that is needed <br />very soon. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2003-9 SUPPORTING LEGISLATION <br />TO PROVIDE IMPROVED FUNDING OPTIONS FOR CITY STREET IMPROVEMENTS. <br />VOTING AYE: Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />
