City Council meeting of December 15, 2003 <br />Page 4 <br />APPROVE LAWFUL GAMBLING LICENSE (AMERICAN LEGION POST 6201 <br />The Hugo American Legion made application to the City for approval of its lawful gambling permit in <br />order to conduct pull -tab and bingo operations. Staff reviewed the application and found it to be <br />completed satisfactorily. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the lawful gambling permit for <br />the American Legion Post 620 to conduct pull -tab and bingo operations at its site at 5383 14& Street. <br />APPROVE DONATION FROM COMO LUBE TO THE HUGO FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The Hugo Fire Department received a donation of $1,500 from Como Lube to purchase foam to be <br />used in the event of a chemical fire at their business. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved <br />acceptance of the $1,500 donation from Como Lube to the Hugo Fre Department. <br />MNDOT RAILROAD HEARING HELD ON DECEMBER 9, 2003 <br />City Attorney Dave Snyder provided an overview of the December 9, 2003 hearing held before <br />Administrative Law Judge Kathleen Sheehy regarding the City's MnDOT application for a railroad <br />crossing for the CSAH 8/14 realignment project. Judge Sheehy has thirty days in which to make a <br />ruling. No formal Council was required. <br />MCES MEETING OF DECEMBER 17.2003 <br />The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services will hold a meeting at Hugo City Hall on <br />Wednesday, December 17, 2003 to discuss the early stages of planning for increasing regional sewer <br />capacity to accommodate future projected growth in the area in and around the City of Hugo. <br />Tonight's meeting will be recessed to allow Council the opportunity to attend this meeting. <br />EGG LAKE OUTLET PROJECT <br />(Mayor Mixon arrived at 7:30 pm.) <br />Water Resource Engineer Pete Willenbring from WSB Engineers was present to provide Council with <br />a status update of the Egg Lake outlet project. Pete reviewed three alternatives and it was his opinion <br />that Alternate 2 (green) was the most viable option, as well as the least costly. Council discussed <br />possible funding sources for the project, as well as the pros and cons of each option. <br />Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, directing the City Engineer to continue with the permitting <br />process for this project, and report to Council of any advances made. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PULTE HOMES PUD AMENDMENT FOR WATERS EDGE NORTH <br />Pulte Homes of Minnesota made application for approval of a Planned Unit Development (PUD) <br />amendment for a residential subdivision known as Water's Edge North, on the 186 -acre parcel of land <br />located east of Everton Avenue. The Planning Commission held a public hearing on this- application at <br />
