City Council meeting of April 15, 2002 <br />Page 5 <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2002-15, RELATING TO THE <br />ADMINISTRATION OF JD2 THAT AFFECTS THE CITIZENS OF HUGO. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW & SALARY ADJUSTMENT (MIKE <br />ERICSON) <br />Mayor Fran Miron and Council member Chuck Haas met with City Administrator Mike Ericson to <br />review his annual performance with the City. Mike's anniversary date is April 17, 2000. Both the <br />Mayor and Council member Haas are pleased with the successes of the City Hall team over the past <br />year, and most recently, with completion of the new City Hall. <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, that the Council approve the annual performance review and <br />salary adjustment for the City Administrator. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CITY HALL RAIN GARDEN LANDSCAPING <br />Landscape architect Laurie McRostie from SEH prepared the overall landscaping plan for the new City <br />Hall site., Included in the plan, Emmons and Olivier Resources' (EOR) engineer Jason Naber prepared <br />the rain garden landscaping plan that was submitted to the Metropolitan Council for a grant. Met <br />Council awarded a $50,000 grant to the City for this rainwater garden -landscaping plan. On Friday, <br />March 22, 2002, City staff met with landscape architect Laurie McRostie, Greg Burmeister from Arnt <br />Construction, and representatives from Bever Landscaping to further define the scope of services <br />prescribed in the bid documents. The City received a proposal from Arnt Construction to complete all <br />final site grading and excavation of the rainwater garden ponds. The bid opening was held on <br />Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at the SEH office. <br />Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to award the City Hall rain garden landscaping contract to the low <br />bidder Bever and Sons in the amount of $46,261.29. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />ABSTAINED: Chuck Haas <br />Motion Carried. <br />CITY HALL SITE WORK <br />On March 22, 2002, City staff met with Laurie McRostie and Dave Mitchell from SEH engineers, Greg <br />Burmeister for Arnt Construction, Jason Naber from EOR, Council member Frank Puleo, and <br />representatives from Bever and Sons landscaping to discuss the City Hall rainwater garden project. It <br />became clear that an experienced landscape construction company would need to prepare the City Hall site <br />for the construction of the rainwater garden pond. Greg Burmeister agreed to provide the City with <br />construction numbers to be the site to elevation, as well as to construct the actual rainwater garden ponds. <br />
