City Council meeting of May 6, 2002 <br />Page 2 <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION TO FIRSTAR BANK FOR PARKS COMMISSION <br />MEETINGS <br />At its April 10, 2002 meeting, the Hugo Parks Commission and Chair Robyn LaCasse agreed to <br />recognize Ely Rud and Firstar Bank for their community spirit and cooperation for the use of the bank's <br />conference room over the past two years for Parks Commission meetings. On behalf of the City of <br />Hugo, Mayor Miron awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to Ely Rud and Firstar Bank and publicly <br />thanked them for use of the bank's conference room over the past two years for Parks Commission <br />meetings. <br />ACCEPT PAINTING OF HUGO FEED MILL FROM LEN SHIMOTA <br />Len Shimota, who lives on 1401h Street immediately adjacent to Lake Plaisted, donated a beautiful <br />painting he painted of the Hugo Feed Mill located immediately south of the new City Hall. Mr. <br />Shimota, retired, painted this beautiful rendering of the City's most famous landmark. Mr. Shimota <br />wanted to extend his appreciation to the City for reopening 140'' Street, which has been a tremendous <br />benefit to him and his family. Mr. Shimota provided a background on his decision to do the painting, <br />and along with Quinton and Joan Marier, part owners of the Feed Mill, Council accepted the donation <br />from Mr. Shimota and directed staff to install it in the lobby of the new City Hall. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />Approval of Claims <br />Approve Old City Hall Garage Sale (Dispose of Furniture and Fire Department Trailer) <br />Authorize Hiring of Seasonal Help for the Public Works Dept. (Jake Hauck & Dan LaCasse) <br />Approve Lot Line Adjustment for Centex/Pratt Homes <br />Approve Revision to Job Description for Public Works Worker and Authorize Staff to Advertise For <br />Positions <br />Approve Final Draft of City Data Practices Compliance Policy <br />Approve Final Acceptance of Public Improvements for Woods of Bald Eagle Subdivision <br />Approve Annual Performance Review and Salary Adjustment (Michele Lindau) <br />Approve Encroachment Agreement for Chris Johnson (Creekview Preserve) <br />Approve Charitable Gambling License for Hugo FD Relief Association to Conduct Gambling Activities <br />at Hugo Good Neighbor Days <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims for May 6, 2002 as presented. <br />APPROVE OLD CITY HALL GARAGE SALE (DISPOSE OF FURNITURE/FD TRAILS <br />City staff completed its move to the new City Hall and the Public Works Department completely <br />
