City Council meeting of May 6, 2002 <br />Page 3 <br />renovated the old City Hall into the new temporary public works facility. There are a number of pieces <br />of desks, furniture, and chairs that staff requests permission to sell. Additionally, staff recommended <br />Council authorize the sale of the old FD trailer. Adoption of the Consent Agenda authorized staff to <br />conduct a sale to dispose of old office furniture and to take sealed bids for the sale of the FD trailer, <br />which includes its immediate removal from the City. <br />AUTHORIZE HIRING OF SEASONAL HELP FOR PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT <br />Council directed staff to advertise for the summer seasonal help for the Public Works Dept. Jake Hauck, <br />who worked for the City last summer, has agreed to return to the City. City staff recommended that <br />Council rehire Jake Hauck and also recommend the hiring of Dan LaCasse as the new summer seasonal <br />worker for the P.W. department. The interview team consisted of PW Director, Chris Petree, PW <br />worker Tom Smith, and City Administrator Mike Ericson. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved <br />the hiring of Jake Hauck and Dan LaCasse as the seasonal workers for the P.W. department. <br />APPROVE LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT FOR CENTEX/PRATT HOMES <br />Centex Homes and Len Pratt requested approval of a property line adjustment for the former Tschida <br />and McCollar properties. Centex intends to sell approximately 8.3 acres to Len Pratt. Len Pratt recently <br />purchased the McCollar property located west of the Centex property and east of Elmcrest. Len Pratt <br />intends to develop detached townhomes (single family homes) on the subject property to transition from <br />the Centex townhomes to the future single-family estate lots on the McCollar property. The Community <br />Development Director reviewed the request and found that it complied with all City requirements. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved Resolution 2002-21 for a property line adjustment and <br />variance for Centex Homes and Len Pratt for properties located west of Fenway and north of the <br />Townhomes of Bald Eagle Lake. <br />APPROVE REVISION TO JOB DESCRIPTION OF P.W. MAINTENANCE WORKER AND <br />AUTHORIZE STAFF TO ADVERTISE FOR POSITIONS <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and City Administrator Mike Ericson met recently with Paul Ness <br />from Helping Minnesota Cities to revise and finalize the job description for the two new full-time public <br />works maintenance workers. Adoption of the Consent Agenda authorized staff to advertise for the <br />position of public works maintenance worker within the proposed 2002 salary matrix and at a target <br />hiring range of $16.78/hr to $19.15/hr. <br />APPROVE FINAL DRAFT OF CITY DATA PRACTICES COMPLIANCE POLICY <br />At its February 4, 2002 meeting, the City Council reviewed a draft policy for a new City policy that <br />regulates the City compliance to state data privacy practices. City Attorney Dave Snyder reviewed with <br />Council the draft policy and he was directed to finalize it and present to Council at a later date for final <br />approval. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the final draft of the City Data Practices <br />Compliance Policy, which also identifies the City Attorney as the City data practices compliance officer. <br />
