City Council meeting of May 6, 2002 <br />Page 6 <br />TH61 & 140TH STREET SIGNALIZATION FUNDING PROPOSAL (APPROVE <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT) <br />At its March 4, 2002 meeting, the Council learned from City Engineer Dave Mitchell that the funding <br />proposal to MnDOT had been approved. Staff was directed to prepare a funding proposal for <br />consideration by the Council that would incorporate both the use of state, local, and county funds. City <br />staff presented a $600,000 funding proposal for consideration by the Council. City staff recommends <br />Council approve the funding proposal and approve the Professional Services Agreement with SEH <br />Engineers for the engineering and construction of a street signal at the intersection of TH61 & 14d" <br />Street. The funds include $218,000 from MnDOT, $60,000 from Washington County, City State Aid in <br />the amount of $90,000, and $230,000 in TIF funds. Council discussed shared responsibilities in paying <br />for the project, as well as when to bid on the project to get the best price possible. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the preliminary layout for the TH61/140' Street <br />signalization and direct staff to proceed with obtaining two bids for the project: one bid for completion <br />this year; and one bid for completion next year. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />POST SNOWSTORM GRAVEL REPAIR AND SOD REPAIR OMGER ENTERPRISES) <br />City Administrator MikeEricsonupdated Council on the report he received from Greg Felt from <br />Washington County regarding Kieger gravel work. Mayor Miron stated that Kieger is making a good <br />effort to retrieve gravel from ditches <br />PUBLIC REFUSE COLLECTION BY WASHINGTON COUNTY (STAFF REPORT) <br />On April 25, 2002, the Ramsey -Washington County Resource Recovery Project Board met to discuss the <br />public refuse collection that had been considered by their respective county boards. The board agreed <br />with the staff recommendation that they should leave the refuse collection to the private sector. <br />Washington County Commissioner Dennis Hegberg provided a short update on the decision of the <br />Board. <br />SWEET GRASS MEADOWS BLOCK PARTY (REVISED PLAN) <br />Staff received an email from Kitty Cheesebrow, whose proposal for a block party in the Sweet Grass <br />Meadows subdivision was approved by Council in January 2002. Kitty and other neighbors desire to <br />have a more intense block party, and this increased number of residents merits consideration by the <br />Council. Specifically, Kitty and her neighbors would like to have a larger gathering that would involve <br />increased patrol by Washington County, delivery of items from the public works department, and the <br />
