City Council meeting of May 20, 2002 <br />Page 4 <br />APPROVE HUGO FIRE DEPARTMENT REQUEST TO PREPARE SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br />AERIAL TRUCK <br />The Hugo Fire Department would like to begin its information gathering process for an aerial fire truck <br />that has been included in the City's capital improvements program for 2003. Since this process is <br />expected to take a significant amount of time, the FD would like approval from Council to proceed with <br />the information gathering process, including the preparation of specifications. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved the Hugo FD's request to begin its information gathering process, including the <br />specifications for a new aerial fire truck in 2003. <br />APPROVE CIGARETTE LICENSE APPLICATION FROM ONEKA RIDGE GOLF COURSE <br />Oneka Ridge Golf Course submitted its annual application for a cigarette license for its golf course at <br />5520 120`h Street. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the annual cigarette license for Oneka <br />Ridge Golf Course. <br />APPROVE VARIANCE REQUEST FOR DECK (CHARLIE & KYLE TIMP) <br />Charles and Kyle Timp made application for a variance to allow them to build a deck on their home <br />located at 6153 1451h Street. The applicants are requesting approval of a 6 ft side yard setback where 10 <br />ft is required. The proposed deck is 12' x 14' and would be located on the east side of the home. At its <br />May 9, 2002 meeting, the Board of Zoning Adjustments reviewed the variance request and <br />recommenced approval. Adoption of the Consent Agenda and Resolution 2002-22 ap;â–ºroved the <br />variance request to allow Charles and Kyle Timp to construct a 12' x 14' deck with a 6 ft side yard <br />setback. <br />LIFT STATION AND WELL CONTROL UPGRADE <br />On May 10, 2002, the City Engineer and Public Works Director opened bids for the well control upgrade <br />for the City's four lift stations and water tower No. 2 and water tower No. 3. There were a total of two <br />bids received with the low bidder being at TPC in the amount of $34,955. <br />Granger made motion, Petryk seconded, awarding the low bid to TPC in the amount of $34,955 for the <br />well control upgrade for the City's four lift stations and water towers No. 2 and No. 3. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />WELL HOUSE NO.4 <br />On May 15, 2002, the City Engineer and Public Works Director opened bids for the construction of well <br />house No. 4. There were a total of four bids with the low bidder being Magney Construction, Inc., in the <br />amount of $362,800. <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, awarding the low bid to Magney Construction, Inc., in the <br />amount of $362,800 for construction of well house No. 4. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
