City Council meeting of June 3, 2002 <br />Page 4 <br />sale of the trailer. The City received no bids for the trailer, but Public Works Director Chris Petree <br />stated that John Clemens would remove the trailer from the City for no cost. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to accept the offer from John Clemens to remove the trailer from <br />the City for no cost. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CITY PURCHASE OF COUNTY PLOW TRUCK AND MOTOR GRADER <br />At its May 28, 2002 meeting, the Washington County Board authorized the sale of two plow trucks and a <br />motor grader to the City of Hugo at a cost of $85,000. Washington County staff will provide the <br />necessary information to finalize the sale of this equipment. No formal Council action was required. <br />SNOW PLOW REPAIR WORK (KIEGER ENTERPRISES) <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree received official verification from Kieger Enterprises that they have <br />completed the gravel reclamation work and installation of the sod repair work in the City. No formal <br />Council action was required. <br />REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF SIGN APPLICATION (NATIONAL RECYCLING) <br />The City Council tabled action on this request at its May 20`h meeting to provide an opportunity for staff <br />to meet with the applicant to discuss the proposed sign. Staff discussed the sign application with the <br />applicant and he agreed to reduce the sign from 76 square feet to 22 feet to bring it into compliance with <br />the City's sign ordinance. The sign contains the business name and general information. Staff reviewed <br />the sign and found that it complies with the applicable ordinance requirements. <br />Petryk made motion, Granger seconded, to approve the sign application for National Recycling and <br />direct the building official to issue the sign permit. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />TRANSFER OF DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS PROGRAM <br />Because of the late hour, this matter was tabled from the Council meeting of May 20, 2002. City staff <br />had met with Council members Chuck Haas and Becky Petryk and Planning Commission Chair Dave <br />Schumann regarding the development of a transfer of development rights program in the City. This <br />informal group completed some preliminary research on the subject and forwarded the information to the <br />Planning Commission for consideration. RCWD administrator Steve Hobbs will be present at the <br />Planning Commission meeting on June 13, 2002 to share information relative to the program. <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to schedule a joint meeting with the Hugo Planning Commission <br />on June 13, 2002 to discuss transfer of development rights program. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
