City Council meeting of August 5, 2002 <br />Page 6 <br />Because the cost of these three related purchases exceeds $50,000, City Engineer Dave Mitchell stated <br />that the City should obtain competitive bids. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to proceed with the 10 -day bid process for the <br />acquisition of equipment for the 140" StreetffH61 signal. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Granger made motion, Haas seconded, to bid the construction of the signals with an alternative bid to get <br />work completed fall of 2002. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE PAY REOUEST #2 WITH BEVER & SONS FOR CITY HALL LANDSCAPING <br />AND WATERFALL <br />Bever and Sons made application to the City for approval of a pay request #2 in the amount of <br />$16,199.18. Laurie McRostie from SEH reviewed with the City Administrator this request and found it <br />to be inconsistent and a number of areas with the quantities and the amount of work performed. City <br />staff recommended Council approve payment in the amount of $8,184.63 and to further instruct staff to <br />review the work completed to date. City Administrator Mike Ericson explained the need to retain a <br />portion of their payment request. Council member Granger suggested that Council member Frank Puleo <br />be a part of further discussions with Bever to help resolve work and payment issues. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to approve the payment to Bever & Sons in the amount of <br />$8,184.63 and direct staff and Council member Frank Puleo to work with Bever and Sons to resolve <br />outstanding pay requests. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />ABSTAINED: Haas <br />Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE PAY REQUEST #8 WITH LANDMARK STRUCTURES FOR WORK <br />COMPLETED ON WATER TOWER #3 <br />Landmark Structures made application for approval of pay request #8 for work completed to date on <br />water tower #3. Steve Campbell from SEH reviewed the request and found it to be consistent with work <br />completed to date. At the request of Council member Chuck Haas, City Engineer Dave Mitchell <br />provided an update on the status of the project. The tower is planned to be "hoisted" the week of August <br />19, 2002, with storage of water sometime in October or November of this year. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve payment to Landmark Structures, in the amount of <br />$14,487.50, for work completed to date on 1.5 million gallon water tower #3. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
