City Council meeting of April 2, 2001 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />Approval of Claims <br />Approval of Variance for Front Yard Setback (John Tomnitz) <br />Approval of Advertisement of Bids for Class 5 Grave <br />All aye. Motion carried. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims for April 2, 2001 as submitted. <br />APPROVAL OF VARIANCE FOR FRONT YARD SETBACK (TOMNITZ) <br />At its meeting of March 28, 2001, the Hugo Board of Appeals and Adjustments considered a front <br />yard setback variance for John Tomnitz for the construction of a 1,600 square foot pole building at <br />7180 177" Street. The Board accepted staffs recommendation and unanimously recommended <br />approval of the variance request. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the 12 -foot variance for <br />a front yard setback for John Tomnitz. <br />APPROVAL ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR CLASS 5 GRAVEL <br />In the spring of each year, the Hugo Public Works Department solicits bids for delivery of class 5 <br />gravel that is used on the City's 32 miles of gravel roads. Staff requested authorization from the <br />Council to proceed with its annual advertisement for bids. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />permitted Staff to proceed with the advertisement for bids to provide for delivery of class 5 gravel in <br />the City. <br />BUSINESS SUBSIDY AGREEMENT WITH NORTHROP DEVELOPMENT <br />In accordance with City policy and state statute regarding tax increment financing, the City Council <br />conducted a public hearing to solicit public comment regarding the City's proposed Business Subsidy <br />Agreement with Northrop Development, LLC. Mr. Dan Northrop has proposed the construction of a <br />30,000 square foot facility this spring and a 12,000 square foot expansion some time in the two to <br />three year future. Based upon an estimated construction cost of $35.00 per square foot, a 30,000 <br />square foot building and a 15 -year term, the applicant is eligible for $271,969 in TIF financing. <br />Miron opened the public hearing and there was no comment from the public. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the Purchase Agreement for the purchase of <br />approximately four (4) acres of land in the Bald Eagle Industrial Park, and the Development <br />Agreement for Northrop Development, LLC, to construct a building on the property. <br />All aye. Motion carried. <br />
