City Council meeting of May 21, 2001 <br />Page 6 <br />In order to complete their project, they would need a change in zoning. May r Miron mentioned the <br />frontage road that was required from Nadeau's at the time they developed ther facility. He felt the <br />City should look at a frontage road along this whole stretch of road along TH i 1. Councilman Haas <br />wanted to see an overview of the entire area to get a better perspective on how the area would develop. <br />This would not be possible as Warren Arcand, owner of the property to the s uth, was not interested in <br />developing his property at this time. Councilman Puleo was reluctant toco ent on the project until <br />after the charrette process has been finalized. No formal action was required. <br />DESIGN <br />Tod Drescher with Tomten Environmental Design appeared before the Couml <br />it to discuss cluster <br />development in the rural areas of Hugo. Tomten Environmental Design is eptly working with <br />several landowners in the rural area in designing cluster developments. The ouncil was asked to <br />consider whether or not increasing density bonuses and requiring additional pen space and design <br />improvements results in a desired development pattern for the City. Council ' ormed Mr. Derscher <br />that they should appear before the Planning Commission to request any poss' le amendments to the <br />City's existing cluster housing ordinance. <br />SCHEDULE NEXT COUNCIL WORKSHOP <br />At its May 14, 2001 specially called Council meeting for the purpose of cons Bering the capital <br />improvements program, staff indicated its desire for Council to schedule its ext workshop meeting at <br />which a number of pertinent issues need to be discussed by the Hugo City C uncil. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to hold a Council workshop on Monda , June 11, 2001, at 7:00 <br />pm, at the Hugo City Hall to discuss a number of pertinent issues. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />GOOD NEIGHBOR DAYS PARADE <br />With a long-standing tradition, the Hugo City Council indicated its interest 'riding in the Hugo Good <br />Neighbor Days parade on Friday, June Oh, in an effort to extend the good wi of the Council. Staff <br />requested direction from the Council as to the use of the new trailer and 4 x pickup that have been <br />purchased by the public works department in the past year should the Hugo ity Council choose to <br />ride in the Hugo Good Neighbor Days parade. The Council will not particip to in the parade because a <br />majority of the Council had a conflict with the night of the parade and could of attend. <br />CHANGE IN COUNCIL MEETING DATE <br />Council member Petryk asked that Council consider changing the first meeti in July as it falls in the <br />week of the 4h of July holiday. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to table this matter until the meetinof June 4, 2001. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
