City Council meeting of June 4, 2001 <br />Page 4 <br />ESG Architects. At Council direction, staff discussed with Mr. Russek his i erest as serving as the <br />primary architect for architectural inspection services for the new City Hall. . Russek has spoken <br />with the principals from ESG Architects, and they have agreed to allow him taff time to provide <br />inspection services for the construction of the new City Hall. Councilman Pt leo questioned City <br />liability because two firms were being utilized, and was assured that they bo carried liability <br />insurance. <br />Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, that the City approve the hiring of Bob ussek and ESG <br />Architects to provide architectural inspection services for construction of the new City Hall, at cost not <br />to exceed 2.5% of the construction costs, the same rate as was approved by the Council for BRA. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />JD2 APPEAL <br />Attorney Paul Haik notified staff that the City must file a Notice of Appeal later than Friday, June <br />29, 2001 for the JD2 lawsuit. Staff requested Council provide direction to th attorney and the City <br />Administrator regarding official direction to Mr. Haik and his Notice of App on behalf of the City. <br />Council directed staff to create a Blue Ribbon Task Force for a JD2 surfacev rater management plan, <br />and it has met twice with mediator Roger Williams. Councilman Granger provided information to the <br />Council on the outcome from these meetings to date. The task force will me t again on June 14, 2001, <br />prior to the next Council meeting on June 18, 2001. <br />Puleo made motion, Petryk seconded, to table this matter until the Council njeeting of June 18, 2001. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo <br />ABSTAINED: Fran Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />,JULY 2ND CITY COUNCIL MEETING (RESCHEDULE) <br />At its May 21, 2001 meeting, Council member Becky Petryk discussed with Council the regularly <br />scheduled July 2, 2001 Council meeting. Council tabled discussion on this item to June 4, 2001 <br />Council meeting to allow Council members to review their July 4'b holiday c dendars. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, that the first regular Council meeting irk July be held on July 2, <br />2001. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CHARRETIUVISIONING PROCESS COMMUNITY MEETING <br />At its May 21, 2001 meeting, the Council selected June 25, 26, or 28 as pos ble dates to hold the final <br />community meeting for the charrettelvisioning process. Staff spoke with M' hael Lamb from HGA, <br />the community -visioning consultant, and determined that the best day is Tue day, June 26, 2001, Hugo <br />Elementary School, at 6:30 pm. No formal Council action was required. <br />
