City Council meeting of September 17, 2001 <br />Page 4 <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to table this matter to allow staff to create a punch list of <br />unfinished items, which will be sent to the developer, North Suburban Development, as well a follow-up <br />with RCWD to confirm acceptance of drainage system. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CHRISTOPHER TREPANIER (14564 KEYSTONE AVENUE) <br />Christopher Trepanier requested time to speak to the Council regarding his concern over his property <br />during the Hugo Good Neighbor Days weekend last June. He would like to discuss the activities on his <br />property during this past Good Neighbor Days and over the past years. This item was placed on the <br />agenda at the request of the property owner. Mr. Trepanier appeared before the Council looking for a <br />solution to his problem so that in the future, he would not be cited for disturbing the peace. Mr. <br />Trepanier was advised by the Council to meet staff in an effort to advise him what can legally take place <br />on his property. <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY CDBG ALLOCATION <br />City staff received notification from Washington County regarding the allocation of Community <br />Development Block Grant dollars for the current and 2002 -year allocation. Since becoming an <br />entitlement county when the population went over 200,000 last year, Washington County now has <br />obtained federal funds, which are to be used on housing projects within Washington County. There are a <br />multitude of ideas that the funds can be used on, and staff has been in contact with the Washington <br />County Administrator's office on these issues. No Council action was required. <br />GRANT APPLICATION TO METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR CITY HALL RAIN <br />GARDENS PROJECT <br />As part of the new City Hall project, City staff and the City Hall Building Committee have been working <br />with the RCWD engineers to design a rain gardens infiltration system on City Hall site. As Council is <br />aware, RCWD approved authorization and funding to prepare the design plans for the project and fund a <br />portion of the construction costs. Staff also informed Council that the Metropolitan Council has grant <br />opportunities available with an application deadline of 4:00 pm, Friday, October 26, 2001. <br />Petryk made motion, Granger seconded, authorizing staff to prepare a grant application to Met Council <br />to fund the 50/50 match with the RCWD for its alternative storm water conveyance system, i.e., rain <br />gardens. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY LEAGUE OF LOCAL GOVT ANNUAL MEETING <br />The City received notification from the Washington County League of Local Governments that it will <br />hold its annual meeting on Monday, October 29, 2001. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, directing staff to schedule a meeting for October 29, 2001, 7:00 <br />pm, to allow the Mayor and Council to attend the Washington County League of Local Governments <br />meeting. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
