City Council meeting of January 3, 2000 <br />Page 3 <br />Barnes made motion, Petryk seconded, to appoint Chuck Haas as the Council's liaison to the Parks <br />Commission. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS & APPEALS <br />Barnes made motion, Petryk seconded, to make the following appointments to the Board of Zoning for <br />the year 2000: Wally Stoltzman, Frank Puleo, and Bernard Brunotte. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING (COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN) <br />A was held to consider adoption of a proposed Comprehensive Transportation Plan for the community. <br />Ross Harris and Mike Kotila of SEH were present at the meeting to answer any questions the public <br />may have on the document. The public hearing was opened with the following comments: Arnie <br />Triemert questioned whether water and sewer extension was addressed in the document; he was <br />informed only transportation. Jim Kellison inquired about light rail transit, and was informed <br />discussion of the light rail was included in the plan. There were no further comments. <br />Barnes made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to accept the preliminary Comprehensive Transportation <br />Plan, and forward a copy to Metropolitan Council for their review and comment. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPLICATION FOR SNOWMOBILE TRAIL <br />The Hugo Snowmobile Club requested the Council approve a snowmobile trail across Rice Lake, and <br />along CSAH8 east at Goodview Avenue. They previously provided an easement from the Bramstedts <br />to cross their property between Goodview Avenue and CSAH8. A permission slip from Ray Pribnow <br />to extend the trail across his property between Goodview Avenue and Rice Lake was provided. It was <br />the Administrator's opinion that a defined map showing trail location had not been provided. <br />Barnes made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to send a letter to the Hugo Snowmobile Club requesting <br />that all off-road trails be identified on a background map to be placed on file. The Club should seek <br />funding from the DNR to cover costs incurred. To assure submittals are provided in a timely manner, <br />the snowmobile trail approval process for the winter of 00/01 should begin immediately. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Barnes made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve Hugo Snowmobile Club's trail across Rice Lake to <br />Goodview Avenue for this snowmobile season, and provide an updated map at a future meeting. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />VOTING NAY: Haas Motion Carried. <br />
