City Council meeting of June 19, 2000 <br />Page 7 <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />Motion Carried. <br />CONSTRUCTION COOPERATION & COST SHARING AGREEMENT (MCES <br />CENTERVILLE INTERCEPTOR) <br />The City Engineer recommended the City Council approve the Agreement with the Metropolitan <br />Council Environmental Services for the Centerville sewer interceptor. <br />Petryk made motion, Barnes seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2000-20, A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING OFFICIALS OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A COST SHARING AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE METRO COUNCIL FOR THE CENTERVILLE INTERCEPTOR IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />Motion Carried. <br />PETITION FOR LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS (FIONA AVENUE & FIONA ROAD) <br />Property owners along Fiona Avenue and Fiona Road submitted a petition for local improvement <br />of their street. The owners of the property have satisfied City staff that they represent not less than <br />35% in frontage of the real property abutting Fiona Avenue/Road, 120' Street north to 125` Street. <br />They hereby petition the City that such Fiona Avenue/Road be improved by the installation of <br />bituminous surfacing pursuant Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429. City staff recommended adoption <br />of the resolution authorizing the City Engineer prepare the standard engineering feasibility study <br />with regard to this project, and bring it back to a future Council meeting for discussion. <br />Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2000-21, A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING ADEQUACY OF PETITION AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF REPORT <br />FOR IMPROVEMENT OF PROPERTY ABUTTING FIONA AVENUE AND FIONA ROAD.. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />Motion Carried. <br />BALD EAGLE INDUSTRIAL PARK LAND PURCHASE OFFER (PROTECTIVE <br />COATINGS TECHNOLOGY <br />The Council considered a memo from the City's Finance Director, Ron Otkin, outlining a request <br />from Jim Kellison to purchase Lot 1, Block 1, BEIP P Addition (4.2 acres). Mr. Kellison <br />requested a reduction in the purchase price due to sewer interceptor easements and the layout of the <br />lot. Mr. Kellison addressed the Council, outlining reasons why he felt the purchase price of the <br />property should be reduced. After a lengthy discussion of the piece of property in question: <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve a reduction in the purchase price of Lot 1, <br />Block 1, BEIP P Addition by .5 of an acre, or 3.7 acres. All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
