Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved renewal of the <br />Contract for another year with the amended rate schedule. <br />EAW REQUEST <br />Mr. Thomas Raster, 15227 Greene Avenue, requested that the City require an Environmental <br />Assessment Worksheet for the development of the 40 -acre parcel located along the west side <br />of Greene Avenue. As no application for subdivision of the property has been received by <br />the City, this request is premature. Staff prepared a response to Mr. Raster's letter. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved sending Mr. Raster the letter. <br />FIRE HALL BIDS <br />Pete Villard of Trossen Wright presented the Council with the bids received for construction <br />of the City's new Fire Hall. Eight bids were received, with the low bidder being Loeffel <br />Engstrand at $875,000. Mr. Villard called the references listed by the low bidder, receiving a <br />variety of opinions. It was agreed that this was not an unusual circumstance. <br />Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to award the Fire Hall construction project to the low <br />bidder, Loeffel Engstrand, with a bid of $875,000 (no deducts), and reject all other bidders. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, Leroux, Miron <br />ABSTAINED: Warren Arcand <br />Motion Carried. <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, authorizing Trossen Wright to notify Loeffel <br />Engstrand to proceed with construction of the Fire Hall, to be followed by a letter of intent <br />from the City to Loeffel Engstrand. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, Leroux, Miron <br />ABSTAINED: Warren Arcand <br />Motion Carried. <br />1997 AUDIT REPORT <br />Jim Payette and Linda Graupman, representatives from the Boyum and Barenscheer auditing <br />firm, were present at the Council meeting to describe their findings, and answer any questions <br />the Council had regarding the City's 1997 annual financial report. <br />Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to accept the 1997 audit as provided by Boyum and <br />Barenscheer. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The Council may consider obtaining bids for the 1998 audit. <br />
