City Council meeting of June 1, 1998 <br />Page 4 <br />FRANCESCA AVENUE EWPROVEMENT REQUEST <br />At the Council meeting of May 18, 1998, the City Council received a petition from residents <br />living along Francesca Avenue, adjacent to the Hugo Elementary School. The Council tabled <br />consideration of the petition until this meeting to allow the City Engineer time to develop <br />cost estimates for repair of the street. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, directing staff to begin the Chapter 429 assessment <br />process, and authorize the City Engineer to receive bids from contractors for the repair of <br />Francesca Avenue. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to schedule a public improvement hearing for <br />Francesca. Avenue for July 6, 1998, at 7:05PM. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FENWAY BOULEVARD PLANS AND SPECS <br />The Council considered a resolution directing an advertisement for bids for the construction <br />of Fenway Boulevard, from 130th Street to 140th Street, and Fenway Avenue, from 140th <br />Street to 142nd Street. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1998-20, A RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING PLANS AND SPECS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br />FOR THE FENWAY BOULEVARD/AVENUE PROJECT. <br />VOTING AYE: Arcand, Barnes, Goiffon, Leroux, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />TRANSPORTATION STUDY UPDATE <br />The City Engineer provided the Council with an update on the status of the City's proposed <br />transportation study, and the results of the recent meeting with the Washington County <br />Engineer. A letter to Washington County, outlining the City's request for assistance in <br />conducting the study, was considered by the Council. <br />Miron made motion, Barnes seconded, directing staff to forward the draft to Washington <br />County financial assistance in the transportation study. <br />All aye.
