City Council meeting of July 6, 1998 <br />Page 4 <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve the preliminary plat for Beaver Ponds, Phases 2 and <br />3, subject to the Findings of Fact and Recommendations, and contingent on a five acre parcel for park <br />dedication being exclusive of wetlands. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, authorizing the City Engineer to proceed with the design of the <br />lift station for the Beaver Ponds development, with the design cost to be escrowed by the developer. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />TRANSPORTATION PLAN <br />Washington County responded to the City's request that the County cost -share in the development of a <br />transportation study for the community, including corridor studies for TH61 and CR8. The City <br />originally requested $22,000, and the County has indicated their willingness to contribute $10,000 plus <br />some staff time. The Council felt that the $10,000 offer was inadequate because of the benefit of the <br />study to the County. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, directing the City Attorney to prepare the necessary agreement <br />with Washington County to move forward with the Transportation Plan. <br />VOTING NAY: Arcand, Barnes, Goiffon, Leroux, Miron <br />VOTING AYE: NONE <br />Motion Failed. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, to table this matter for an opportunity to make personal contact <br />with the City's Washington County Commissioner, Dennis Hegberg. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPOINTMENT TO BCWD <br />The City received a letter from Washington County regarding appointments to the BCWD's Board of <br />Managers. The terms for all members on the Board will expire on October 31, 1998, and the County is <br />requesting nominations to fill the positions prior to expiration. The Council will explore possible <br />appointments to the Board, with a notification deadline of July 31, 1998. <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to table action on this matter until the Council meeting of July <br />20, 1998. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CENSUS COUNT COMMITTEE <br />The City received correspondence from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census, <br />questioning whether the City wishes to establish a Complete Count Committee for the community as <br />preparation for the 2000 census. This Committee serves to publicize the importance of the census 2000 <br />
