City Council meeting of August 17, 1998
Page 4
PLAT APPROVAL PROCESS
At Council direction, the proposed plat approval process, prepared by City staff, was revised to
allow issuance of a grading permit by the City Engineer upon approval of the preliminary plat. The
City Engineer has also reorganized the presentation of submittals for plats.
Goiffon made motion, Leroux seconded, to adopt the Plat Approval Process Policy, as amended.
All aye. Motion Carried.
COMMUTER RAIL MEETING/BUDGET WORKSHOP
The Ramsey/Washington County Railroad Authority has scheduled a meeting to discuss commuter
rail along the TH61 corridor, from St. Paul to Rush City, on Monday, August 31, 1998, at 6:30
p.m. This conflicts with the budget workshop scheduled by the Council for the same evening.
Given the potential impact of commuter rail on the City of Hugo, staff recommended rescheduling
the budget meeting to allow the Council time to attend the Regional Rail meeting.
Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to schedule a 1999 prioritiestmeeting for August 31, 1998,
at 9:00 a.m.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, to schedule a special Council meeting for August 31, 1998,
to allow the Council to attend a commuter rail meeting at White Bear Lake City Hall at 6:30 p.m.
All aye. Motion Carried.
DONATION REQUEST
The City received a request from the Fire Chief for a $200 contribution to help establish a Hugo
Fire Auxiliary. The money would be used to cover administration and mailing expenses as this
organization seeks to establish itself.
Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve a $200 contribution to help establish a Hugo
Fire Auxiliary.
All aye. Motion Carried.
GRADING PLAN (WOODS OF BALD EAGLE, 2ND ADDITION)
The City's Engineer, Tom Angus, recommended that the City approve the request of Merila and
Associates to grade an area within Outlot B of the Woods of Bald Eagle development to allow them
to obtain materials for building of house pads with the development.
