The current ordinance establishes preferred land -use area for <br />antennas, sets maximum heights permitted, and allows for those antennas specifically <br />permitted by State or Federal law, such as home TV antennas, dishes, and amateur radio <br />antennas. Richard Donlon and Trevor Bladm addressed the Council stating their hopes <br />that the draft ordinance would be adopted. <br />Leroux made motion. Goiffon seconded, to adopt ORDINANCE 1997-315, AN <br />ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 35 OF THE HUGO CITY CODE BY <br />ESTABLISHING ANTENNA REGULATIONS WTTIHN THE CITY OF HUGO. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, Johnson, Leroux, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />Barnes made motion. Goiffon seconded, authorizing publication of a summary of the <br />adopted antennaordinance. <br />All aye. Motion Carried <br />1997 LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTRACT <br />The Council considered the proposed 1997 Contract for Law Enforcement Services <br />between Hugo and the Washington County Sheriffs Office. Language in the Contract <br />remains the same as in previous years, including Washington County purchasing and <br />providing the squad car for the City. Estimated budget impact of the Contract is an <br />indrease of 7% for law enforcement services in the coming year. Councilman Leroux <br />expressed concern with the increases associated with the Contract for the past few years. <br />Barnes made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve the 1997 Law Enforcerneat Contract <br />between the City of Hugo and the Washington County Sheriffs Office, and authorizes the <br />Mayor to sign the Contract on behalf of the City. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, Johnson, Miron <br />VOTING NAY: James Leroux <br />Motion Carried. <br />Miron made motion. Leroux seconded, directing the City Administrator to send an <br />accompanying letter when returning the signed Contract, expressing the City's concern <br />with the large percentage increases in Contract costs for the past few years. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />BRIDGE REPORT <br />The City Engineer, in accordance with State Law, conducted an inspection of the bridges <br />located within the City of Hugo, which are the City's responsibility to maintain.
