City Council meeting of May 6, 1996 <br />Page 3 <br />expended any funds, the Hugo Lions Club requested return of their <br />donation. Tom Angus again offered to donate the services of OSM and their <br />landscape architect to assist in the design of the children's playround <br />adjacent to City Hall. Attorney Galler did not feel that the City was <br />under obligation to return the gift, especially, plus interest. Mayor <br />Miron will be in contact with the Lions Club to review their request with <br />them. <br />Goiffon made motion, Barnes seconded, to table the Lions' Club request <br />until after the Mayor discusses further their request. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIFE FIGHTER; APPOINTMENTS <br />Fire Chief, Jim Wisner, recommended that Blake Nelson and Eric Haines be <br />appointed as Hugo Fire Fighters, on a probationary status, in accordance <br />with Section 1•_00 of the Department's SOF. <br />LaValle made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the appointment of Blake <br />Nelson and Erick Haines to the Hugo Fire Department for a six-month <br />probationary period, in accordance with Section 1300 of the SOF. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />At this time in the meeting, the Mayor read letters from two residents <br />thanking the Fire Department for helping them in their emergency. <br />FIFE HALL SITE SELECTION <br />The Council received the criteria developed by the City Council and Fire <br />Department for review of potential sites for the location of a new Fire <br />Hall. <br />COUNCIL SELF-EVALUATION <br />As requested by the City Council, a self-evaluation discussion guide was <br />prepared by staff. The Council is to complete the form provided for <br />submission at the Council meeting of May 20, 1996. <br />Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to schedule a Council workshop for <br />Tuesday, May 28, 1996, at 7:30 FM to discuss the following matters: fire <br />hall site selection, report on Downtown Redevelopment from Fred Hoisinton, <br />and the Council's self-evaluation. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to schedule a joint meeting with the <br />Planning Commission for Wednesday, May 29, 1996, at 7:00 PM, Rice Lake <br />Park Building, for further discussion of the Bald Eagle Industrial Park. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
